And we all thought the K-Beauty trend was over and done with but this past weekend Holika Holika proves us wrong by landing at ulta.com! You can now purchase Holika Holika at Ulta on their website! It’s not the entire lineup of products but it’s a start!
My love of Holika Holika goes back to around 2010-2011ish when they had these adorable Aqua Petit Jelly Blushers that looks like little jello puddings! Did I mention how obsessed I am with makeup that looks like food or fruit? That’s apparently a weird kink of mine!
One of my favorite products from the brand would be their heart-shaped lipsticks like the Heart Crush Velvet Lipstick ($12) which has a smooth, creamy, and pigmented formula! You gotta love the heart-shaped tip too right?! I mean cuteeeeee!
Also, Dr Jart fans will adore the Good Cera Skincare Collection!
K-Beauty has had a good run in the sun here in the US but it has slipped away and sadly, it had no sustainability. I was hoping it would be more than just a trend but sadly, I see it slipping further and further away from the US market which is why I was terribly excited that Ulta brought in Holika Holika. Ulta has been a pretty big advocate of Korean beauty lines and maintains a nice catalog of them online.
Let’s hope this means K-Beauty isn’t dead in the Wester market.
We were very excited about going to Dragoncon this year! It would have been the first convention we’ve been to since 2019. We made the reservations and purchased the tickets when it seemed like things were doing a lot better in the world of COVID. Sadly, things have gotten worst and we consider an event like Dragoncon a super spreader. Although we are both vaccinated we simply did not wish to endanger ourselves or others just because we wanted to get our geek on.
Some of the best news out of canceling those plans was the fact the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is also pulling out this year and making their exclusive Dragoncon Fragrance Oils available online! I’m not a big fan of Dragoncon. I mean, it’s a nice event, but there are quite a few other cons I’d call my favorite and Dragoncon isn’t one that tops that list. But I always get so pissed I have to trade or somehow finagle the fragrance oils from the con if I don’t attend. And I haven’t been to Dragoncon in ages and was excited to grab up the BPAL Exclusives!
I’m pretty hyped BPAL is releasing them online this year. The oils launch Friday, September 3rd, and will be available for a week (they disappear the following Monday).
Of course, they are all peach in flavor!

I’ll be picking up Peach Wafers and Peach Cream as well as Peach and Sugared Oranges Slices. Some small part of me wants to take on Snake Oil and Peach Brandy but I dislike Snake Oil so much and I doubt it’ll do me any favors mixed with a peach liqueur.
