To Do: Makeup, Life, The Universe, Everything

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Hey!

Happy Tuesday! How’s your life going this week? Zoom is crapping out but aside from that the week is shaping out ok aside from a few stressful work hits here and there.

Most New Yorkers are working from home still but I’m in office with a lot of safety measures in place. I’m only seeing clients by appointment, masks are required, and I had air purifiers installed recently as well as a plexiglass across desks. I literally feel like the boy in the plastic bubble over here but better safe than sorry.

I’m thankfully staying strong and not nearly as paranoid as I once was.

Are you still working from home or have you finally ventured out into the world?

If you’re still home I found one of the most important aspects of working from home was creating lists. I’m all about planning and to do lists. I have a list of cleaning that needs to be done, a list of groceries, a list of work things that need getting to, and a list of life things that need doing. I find comfort in lists and I feel like when I write something down I’m committed to completing the task. If I see something on my list that isn’t checked off I feel like I’m letting myself down so there’s def some pressure to complete things and not procrastinate about them! First rule of thumb when you’re home or even when you get home from work do NOT head for the couch to relax. Get the things done you know you really need to do and use that time on the couch or sitting at the computer playing a game or however you de-stress as a reward for the things you get done. Typically when I get home from work the first thing I like to do is check my house chores and get some or even all of them done. You’ve probably been privy to my Hinch list on Instastories if you follow me on Instagram. A clean home is a happy home. I admit I have indulged in not one but two Mrs Hinch’s Book of Lists and I own one of the Activity Books. I love Sophie to death and her little to do list books really help me to get all my cleaning chores done while reminding me what I need to do. You can always download an app as well on your iPhone to do the same exact thing but I find it very relaxing to write out my own lists.

I think makeup, yes, makeup, is also such an important part of normal life if you’re home. It’s tempting to sit around in pajamas all day but getting dressed like you normally would, wearing makeup, and just doing your normal AM routine can be very helpful keeping you upbeat and motivated for the day. Even if you don’t have a Zoom meeting do your makeup anyway! It’ll make you feel pretty and normal!

Don’t forget to make time for yourself. That’s always an important thing when your schedule is a bit bonkers. I really do fill up every single minute of my day with things to do whether it’s for pure joy or important business matters. I try to schedule every single minute of every single day. Life is so short I don’t want to waste any precious moments. Don’t forget to reward yourself! Even if it’s just sitting down to watch a bit of your favorite K-Drama or having a nice cuppa at the kitchen table. Take a moment to breath, enjoy, and of course, think up the next to do list you need to make 🙂

I hope if your life is chaotic right now I hope that things calm down for you soon and return to a more normal pace.

Stay strong out there.

Be good humans.

Be kind.

I believe in you!

Maybelline Color Strike Cream To Powder Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
1 stars out of 5

Maybelline Color Strike Cream To Powder Eyeshadow Pen is a new applicator eyeshadow pen that launched for Summer 2020 in 10 shades. As of now these are a permanent part of the Maybelline core collection they need to get rid of them as soon as possible as they are absolute rubbish.

The idea behind these isn’t new by any means! It’s a simple eyeshadow applicator that’s held within a barrel which is filled with eyeshadow. The tip of the applicator will come out of the barrel saturated with color and if you need more you just dip it right in. Avon, Victoria’s Secret, Lorac, nad many other brands have had eyeshadow packaging like this in the past. It’s convenient and it’s a nice and easy way to swipe, blend and go.

Maybelline’s formula is where things are a bit more unique as they promise a cream to powder formula but….! Well, it’s mostly powder in my opinion.

Here’s my reviews and thoughts.

EcoTools Dissolvable Brush Cleaning Sheets Have Awesome Packaging But Don’t Work

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

EcoTools Dissolvable Brush Cleaning Sheets are a pretty interesting idea and the packaging is great but they don’t actually work. I love these in theory but after using them I’ll likely stick to Ecotools Makeup Brush Cleansing Shampoo which I adore!

Ecotools Dissovable Brush Cleaning Sheets come housed in a 100% Plastic-Free packaging. Even the outer packaging is biodegradable! You can plant it, water it, and apparently it’ll grow into wildflowers! I popped it into some soil yesterday let’s see how it grows! I thought it was kind of cute that the box turned into a seed packet. That’s not the only cool thing about the packaging! The actual tin compact that holds the sheets of brush cleaner is cool! This is a larger tin that holds 30 sheets of dissolvable brush cleaner. The tin’s lid has a ridged brush mat or pad built right in. It’s just a really cool packaging design that’s not only environmental friendly but also, travel friendly and easy to store.

I’m Just Going To Buy All The Saem Prism Light Blusher Shades!

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

The Saem Prism Light Blusher in Tangerine Star is my new best friend! So, story time…! I love a good orange blush! I love shimmering tangerines, vibrant oranges, give ’em to me! Here’s the deal! I really love peaches and corals as you know but I also favor a lot of orange and tangerine blush and eyeshadow. However, sometimes orange just isn’t all that easy to pull off! I remember when the Etude House Miss Tangerine Collection came out I was thrilled but I swear I can never pull off orange as good as some of the Korean models do. Sometimes orange works for me, sometimes it goes dreadfully bad. Sadly, sometimes it’s the dreadfully bad more than the working out!

However, I am now the proud owner of one of thee best tangerine blushes ever! Thank you the Saem Prism Light Blusher I am officially in love with you!
