Here’s What I Love Putting On My Face, Lips, and Eyes Lately

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

It’s currently 5:30 AM and this post is set to go live around 12ish my time here in Gotham. By that time I’ll have my makeup on but right now I’m running around bare faced and free. During isolation I never stopped wearing makeup. I know so many of you were like, “I’m just not up for makeup right now!” and that’s ok! Everyone deals with things a little differently. But for me makeup represented normalcy. When things were out of control and chaotic I kept to my routine because it made me feel safe and grounded. That meant getting up and keeping my normal work schedule, showering, dressing, and wearing my makeup. There might have been a time or two I sat around in PJs but I always had my makeup on ha…!

I think the potential to fall into a pit of despair was easy enough during the pandemic, BLM, and any other of the number of things that were going on at the time. I never gave in though and I stayed strong even though my heart was hurting and still is for everything that is going wrong right now. It’s so hard sometimes to write about lipstick and eyeshadow when the news is flashing images of Indian across the screen or shootings across the US. I’m a sensitive soul so it takes a lot not to let all this get to me.

I think if you’re down right now and feel like things are absolutely bonkers you should embrace the things you love a little more. It’ll really help. That could mean reading more or watching your favorite TV show, working in your garden, or like me, maybe you want to apply makeup and a pretty outfit to make you feel normal again. Whatever that thing is you love get out there and do it. It’ll make you feel good. I know that won’t always be easy for some people but I know you can do it. I believe in you!

Wanna make a list with me of what you’re loving lately?

I have a few that I’m enjoying for my face, eyes, and lips!

This Plunge Bra Actually Worked!

Good Morning!

Time to wake up and makeup! Whatcha wearing on your face today? Fresh face here. I haven’t done my makeup yet.

It’s Fri-yay! I’m over here dancing in my new plunge bra and shorts to It’s Gonna Be May, I mean me! It was actual a dance slash wax the wood floors of my foyer. You gotta multitask sometimes!

I brought an Agent Provocateur Leni Balcony Padded Plunge Bra a few weeks ago because my current plunge bras weren’t working with a shirt I wanted to wear! My sister intervened when I Facedtimed her and told me the Leni was so the way to go. After getting it I realized it was so not what I needed. I don’t mind the padding and the plunge was great. It separated my breasts perfectly for the shirt so my bra didn’t show. But dude, it lifted my breasts to my chin. I don’t really need any lift! I just wanted something that wouldn’t show when I wore this shirt. Why are my breasts now on my forehead? It was a concern…!

The fact I found a plunge bra that worked had me dancing. Ironically, after much searching it only cost me $30 bucks. It was the Bali Lilyette Plunge Into Comfort Keyhole Minimizer. I’m not blessed with huge breasts but this thing makes me look like I had something I didn’t. Wahoo! I’m sexy and I know it. Don’t get nervous! It’s actually not padded so if you are blessed you can totally wear it. It separates nicely but doesn’t shove your breasts onto your forehead. It’s just the right plunge to wear a low cut t-shirt or top without showing the upper cup or straps.

Anyway….

What’s your plunge bra of choice at the moment? Some of you shared a few to try on Facebook! Thanks for the tips! I’ll look into them.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Remember to take care of your skin, wear SPF, drink water, and be a good human.
