NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

I picked up a pot of the new NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30) at Blue Mercury when I went to see an early preview of Fifty Shades Darker with my sister and friends early last week. Which we giggled through like 14 years old boys seeing a pair of boobs for the first time, we all acted very adult-like. But it was all worth it for Jamie Dornan and his Batman-like American accent. I just have to say I’ve watched way more graphic anime and live action movies but for some reason I giggled myself silly through the entire movie.

Anyway, prior to that I hopped in Blue Mercury and grabbed a pot of NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. It was a random purchase as I planned on buying this online since the launch but for some reason I didn’t get a chance to do so. I think I kept telling myself that I wanted to swatch in store to see how the shades were looking.

Here’s my thoughts and review.

These are a new Covergirl Spring 2017 pick and will likely become a permanent part of the brand’s core collection. They appear to be retake on the original Outlast All-Day Custom Lip Color but not a replacement for it.

Let’s take a look!

Maybelline the 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Maybelline the 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette ($11.99) is a new, permanent 12 shade eyeshadow palette that launched with the Maybelline Spring 2017 Collection. This is the 5th edition of larger eyeshadow palettes that Maybelline launched which all started with the introduction of the The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette as well as others like The Blushed Nudes, Rock Nudes, etc….

These were created after the success of larger nude palettes from brands like Too Faced and Urban Decay. I think Maybelline wanted to corner a market of the drugstore eyeshadow palette that wasn’t quite there with a launch of a larger palette. Now brands like NYX had already done larger nude, natural palettes but more mainstream brands like Maybelline, Revlon, etc…hadn’t quite reached a larger palette launch until the original Maybelline Nudes Eyeshadow Palette came along. I know I was excited to see Maybelline doing a Urban Decay Naked-like palette.

Sadly, many of the palettes have been duds with drier and difficult to blend shades.

But I’m a sucker so, of course, I’ve tried most of them and even though I’ve been plenty burned I still decided to haul the Maybelline the 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette.
