To say I’m pleased with Givenchy Sari Glow Blush is an understatement! Sari Glow Blush manages to keep all the fine features I know and love about Givenchy Blush and add something a little bit different and extra to make the blush even better.
Givenchy released two colors of Sari Glow Blush both of which reflect the beautiful colors incorporated into an Indian woman’s traditional dress. Much like the MAC Manish Aurora release, Givenchy choose bolder shades of pinks and oranges to dominate their new Spring Collection for 2009 and the Muse can’t deny she’s absolutely thrilled with the colors and the products released.
Givenchy Sari Glow Blush is a tiny bit different when compared with other blushes released from the line as the formula is baked and a good deal more pigmented then many colors already available. I got both colors as they are quite unique, exotic, and beautiful. Givenchy managed to keep the texture and formula of the blush even though it’s a baked version so you’ll still get that iridescent “glow” finish when you use the blushes. Do see my FOTD from Givenchy’s Holiday Collection and I think you’ll understand the glow I mean! Pigmentation is excellent on both shades of blush so you can have a bold stroke of color on cheeks or a lighter sheer wash, it’s entirely up to you.
The colors available in the blush are Maharani Orange and Maharani Pink. Maharani Orange is a true orange blush and applies as such. Don’t expect to get a peachy glow from this, it’s orange, really orange. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it’s not easy to pull off for everyone and I have to say even I’m struggling with it slightly. The collection does have the vibe that it would work best on bronzed, sunkissed, or darker tones than my own medium fair skin. I’m thinking I need to try the orange on my sister and see how it looks on her! After a fair bit of blending I was kinda feeling the love for all that orange and felt quite dolled up! It’s a really nice glowing shade and I think it’ll look even better if I allow myself to get a little sun this coming Summer (highly doubtful I’ll get anywhere near the Sun but it’s the thought that counts!). Maharani Pink is a true pink shade that gives a nice stroke of shimmering iridescent pinched pink on my cheeks! I like this one alot as it’s a straight pink with a nice finish…not too bold but bold enough to be noticed.
Each blush is a dual compact which has the blush on top and a brush tucked away underneath in a separate compact. Givenchy obviously understands what addicts want, which would be not having our brush lay on top of our blusher! Of course, Givenchy has designed and themed it’s compacts with an Indian like flare around the border of the compact and a pink background for the Maharani Pink Blush and an orange one for the Maharani Orange Blush. The blush bears the Givenchy emblem smack in the middle and a black border all around the powder. Interestingly enough after a few swipes it still remains there…we shall see for how long!
I took note that these are $42 USD and correct me if you must but weren’t Givenchy blushes $50 USD last year? So again we see Givenchy making steps to lower the cost of it’s cosmetics, likey!
Overall, I think if you’re a collector and fan of Givenchy you’ll want to pick up both blushes. If you’re a darker skin tone I think you’ll want these as well as they’ll look stunning on darker tones especially those who are of Indian descent. I do Muse Approve them for purchase because I think they are unique and interesting items to add to your higher end collection. The Muse loves ‘em!

Welcome to Pieces of Life: The Twilight DVD Edition.
Did I totally hear some of you start to scream and cry? I did right? The Muse is fond of musing about our friend Edward so of course she had to muse a little about the release of Twilight on DVD today and alert you all that it’s coming to a DVD near you on March 21st!
Get our your Eau de Edward and your Mrs Cullen T-Shirts and brace yourself for a re-watch of Twilight in the comfort of your own home.
The Muse happens to be a purist and she will say, possibly to your horror, that I hated the movie with a passion. Robert Pattinson? Well hello gorgeous I’d do you (Side Note: I wasn’t thinking that after I heard he hadn’t washed his hair in a few weeks ewww)! But honestly, let’s be honest ok? Honestly, aside from the one scene with saliva exchange between Robert and Kristen there was absolutely none of the chemistry, none of the passion, none of the emotion that the books detailed so beautifully. I can debate and rant this bloody topic all day with you but I shall say no more.
The important moral of this story is Twilight is available on DVD as of March 21st and of course yours truly will be buying it and rewatching it just in case it was good…one never knows as the Muse seen it on the first day it released and sat between many a screaming and squealing teenage girl..wait..that was my mate Jai who was squealing sorry about that…who knows maybe it was good and all the squealing took away from award winning performances…but I’m not counting on it!
Rave it or rant it!

I’ve previously reviewed Majolica Majorca Gorgeous Wing mascara and hated it but I am a glutton for punishment so when I seen that MJ was releasing a brand new version of Lash Gorgeous Wing along with the Holiday Collection I quickly decided I had to have it!
Purchasing a new version of Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing was a no brainer for me considering that I fell in love with the promo image and of course had the desire to “dupe” the look of the model. The original release of Gorgeous Wing Mascara is a black version and what was released with the Majolica Majorca Holiday Collection was a limited edition golden brown version. I really found the effect interesting and unique on the model’s eyes and even though I hate fiber mascaras with a passion I quickly decided I had to try it for myself.
The bad and not so surprisingly news is Gorgeous Wing Mascara is just as crappy as the original release. I really can’t stand how this mascara feels on my lashes! Honestly, it’s so irritating as I go through the entire day feeling like I have an eyelash in my eye! ugh! The fibers get somehow trapped under my upper waterline and make me feel like I have something in my eye which makes for a rather long day of trying not to rub my eyes.
It’s understandable why the mascara is so popular with the Asian market though as it does “feather” lashes as it promises. I think this appeals as many Asian girls have shorter, stubbier lashes and they desire more length and volume, it can’t be denied that this gives both but I’m not too big a fan of the fluffy, feather like feel of my lashes. It’s rather unusual but it feels like I’m wearing a really soft, soft pair of false lashes after use.
Now the entire “golden brown” effect doesn’t entirely work and you’ll have to look rather closely at my lashes to see anything golden or brown about them. This doesn’t really disappoint and I’m not ranting simply because many colored mascaras fail to work very well. Even Urban Decay Big Fatty Color doesn’t really do much for turning your lashes completely a different color. So really it doesn’t bug me very much as I’m not really surprised at the lack of pigmentation of the formula but I did have hopes as the model in the promotional images does have rather nice golden brown lashes.
Overall, I think I’m just generally pissy about the fact that I simply don’t like fiber mascaras and the irritating feeling that I have something in my eye!
I actually will say it’s probably worth checking out if you a. love fiber mascaras or b. have shorter, stubbier lashes.
Personally it’s a losing situation and I’ve learned that twice is plenty enough to try this out so if anymore versions are released I best keep away! Can someone write this down and remind me of it when the next MJ promo goes live and introduces some new style of Gorgeous Wing? K, thanks. I just need to be reminded in the future how much I truly dislike this one!
Lover of Gorgeous Wing?

I got the blast e-mail from Stila that Barbie is alive and possibly kicking and screaming at Sephora!
Special thanks to Denise who e-mailed to say, “Hey Muse! Barbie cans are in stock @ Sephora!”
Thanks Denise! I sure did get snap happy to see ‘em up and available! the Muse loves ya!
Sadly, it appears that Barbie Loves Stila Foxy is sold out already or maybe she didn’t even come in yet? I’m not sure.
I was just discussing with my mate Betsy that my Spring makeup budget was doing quite well at the moment but I fear after the Barbie haul I’ll be washing out a chunk of my Spring cosmetic budget so at this point I’m rearranging my figures and trying to see what I can drop to make room for some Barbie Loves Stila (the Muse takes cosmetic budgeting VERY seriously)!
Clickie for more details on the collection!
How about you?
Anyone haul yet?

The Muse is a long time lover of the Agent Provocateur Perfume line so when she read they would be introducing Agent Provocateur Diamond Dust Eau de Parfum her heart nearly leapt out of her chest.
I believe I originally read about the release in Vogue UK and they had stated that Diamond Dust would be a Holiday release but I’ve stalked Agent Provocateur website since November and seen NO updates for this parfum.
But guess what? Obviously they were waiting to release the good stuff on Valentine’s Day because Agent Provocateur Diamond Dust Eau de Parfum is up and available for purchase!
Watch the Muse proceed to run in circles now and get all dizzy and stuff!
Agent Provocateur Diamond Dust Eau de Parfum contains real diamond dust which creates a shimmering, luminous effect on the skin. The parfum comes house in a leather-like jewel box padded with beautiful silver on a pink satin bed. The oval bottle is decorated in silver and pink shimmering with particles of diamond dust! Oh my god I think I just felt my heart palpitate!
I just ordered it on the site as I know if I head to the Soho store they probably won’t have it in stock or may never get it so might as well just order online. At $90 USD plus shipping it’s not exactly cheap but I’m rarely disappointed in any of their blends and I consider them my signature perfume so I’m not minding the price in the least.
I’m thinking of doing a round up review shortly and will of course review this when it arrives. It has diamonds after all…the Muse is all about the diamond dust!
Loving you Agent Provocateur! XoXo!
