I’m Kind Of Into Maybelline Banana Lasting Fix Setting Powder

4 stars out of 5

Nothing is ever going to be as good as Hard Candy Sheer Envy Bake, Brighten & Set Loose Finishing Powder but I’m kind of into Maybelline Banana Lasting Fix Setting Powder lately. I picked this up on a wild and crazy trip to the Evil Empire (Walmart) as you never can go and suffer the fiery pits of despair of that place without making yourself feel better about going there instead of Target by visiting the makeup aisle (Which is always a hot mess! Aren’t those cameras working? Is no one watching people making a mess of everything?). It’s like little reward!

Anyway, I noticed that Maybelline had Lasting Fix Translucent Setting Powder in a Banana and decided eh, why not. I already have an HG in the Hard Candy formula but like many makeup lovers the thrill is in the case and I’m always looking for the next best thing. I didn’t think Maybelline would be it and it isn’t but it’s not bad either.

Hipdot Reese’s Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate Pressed Pigment Palette Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post but all opinions are my own.
4 stars out of 5

Hipdot Reese’s Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate Pressed Pigment Palette ($16) is one of two new, limited edition six-pan pressed pigment palettes inspired by Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and part of the new HipDot x Reese’s Makeup Collection.

This adorable little palette is scented like chocolate and peanut butter and features three mattes, one glitter, and two shimmery shades of eyeshadow that will instantly give you peanut butter cup vibes. Hipdot did such a great job really capturing all elements of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup right down to the packaging. You got a peanut butter shade that represents the yummy creamy center of a peanut butter cup along with a deep, dark chocolate that represents the outer yummy chocolate of the cup! And of course, a bright yellow and bold orange that represent the popular packaging of a Reese’s cup! It’s just such a fun, vibrant, and bold shade range. Sadly, this is a pressed pigment palette though so many shades aren’t eye safe and can cause irritation or staining and the glitter shade is for body and face but not recommended for eye use as it is chunky. If you are planning on using any of these shades (except the glitter! that’s not something I’d recommend for eye use) on your eyes just make sure you aren’t sensitive to certain dyes as you could get an eye infection or worst. Secondly, I always make sure to wear a good primer followed by a prep of powder over my lid to prevent staining when using pressed pigments. I did take one for the team here and used the shades on my eyes but always remember to be safe when using pressed pigments.

Hipdot Reese’s Now Available at Ulta

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

It’s here! Hipdot Reese’s Makeup Collection is now available at ulta.com! Who’s hauling it? This chocolate and peanut butter cup inspired makeup collection will be available for a limited time and features two different pressed pigment palettes, lip balms, and makeup brushes all made up to look like your favorite Reese’s treats!

I’ve been blogging makeup a very, very, very long time. Before youTube, before Instagram, and before Tiktok…! I’m a dinosaur over here. The thing is that sometimes I forget to have fun with makeup after doing this for so long! The new Hipdot Reese’s Collection reminded me why I love makeup so much and how fun it can be sometimes! This collection is bold, bright, and vibrant and really does get the shade range down spot on! So many times brands introduce a collection inspired by your favorite food or your favorite character from a show or a cartoon and they get the colors ALL wrong! You’ll get some sort of eyeshadow palette that looks nothing like the item it’s supposed to be inspired by. Hipdot nailed the shades for Reese’s though! Smooth peanut butter shades, bright pops of orange and yellow, and rich chocolates make up this collection and they all remind me of a yummy Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!

I was playing with the collection yesterday had a blast with it! The Pressed Pigment Palettes are crazy pigmented!

Here’s a look at what’s available in the collection!
