H&M Cover-Up Concealer

H&M Cover-Up Concealer ($6.99) comes atcha on the cheap and in a range of five shades. I see you there, turning your nose up slightly because you’re not really sure a clothing department store can do up concealer well.

Let me tell you H&M Cream Lipstick blew me away and H&M Cover-Up Concealer, aside from one important issue, is just as incredible.

H&M Cover-Up Concealer has all the makings of a great concealer. Creamy, hydrating, blends easily, looks amazing, doesn’t crease into fine lines, did I say hydrating? I love this stuff it quite reminds me of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer’s consistency and texture.

Let me tell you something….

NARS Creamy Concealer has such a great formula. Quite creamy, nicely hydrating but it tends to sheer out as I blend. I hated that about the formula and I thought the coverage was weak because of that so not only does Cover-Up Concealer remind me of the formula in the fact it is creamy and hydrating but also because it also sheers out and offers very little in the way of coverage as I blend out.

Oh woe is me!

$7 buck concealer that looks amazing, feels so hydrating, and blends out so dreamy!? Why tease me!? H&M got everything with with this concealer aside from the coverage. This is good for those days you’re driving around and wanting to go natural. It’s even good if you’re not one for wearing concealer and just want light coverage. But for those of us with tired looking eyes, well, sadly, this doesn’t have enough pigment to hide our woes and imperfections.

I’d give it 10 stars for the formula but the coverage gets a sad old thumbs down.

On that note, I will say, from what I’ve seen of H&M New Makeup Collection so far I have liked and even though Cover-Up Concealer lacks coverage it still makes for a great little concealer when I’m not going for a fully made up look. If I’m just running errands and need a quick way to brighten my eyes up this is a nice little way to do it.

Now if it was only more pigmented.

Tried it?

I don’t know if you tried the elf hd lifting concealer, but it’s my personal favorite!

Muse, I always wear foundation first, then put concealer on top. If I do that, do you think this would provide adequate coverage? Due to winter and age, my under eyes are dry, so a concealer has to be moisturizing but provide enough coverage to cover shadows.

I’m not sure Katherine. I don’t know what kinda of concealer you typically use. I normally apply my concealer first and my foundation later. I prefer more concealer under my eyes and less foundation on my face, for me it isn’t enough coverage to conceal puffiness, fine lines, and tired looking eyes but it does kinda brighten my eyes up. When I got eight or ten hours of sleep this is a good concealer if I need more sheer, natural coverage but if I’m sporting puffiness, fine lines, and dark circles, no way, no how 🙂 Why don’t you try Em the Great Cover Up, that’s great for dry eyes imho! 🙂
