MAC Sweet Vision Magic Dust Powder Review & Swatches
MAC Sweet Vision Magic Dust Powder ($28) is one of two, limited edition is a new hybrid formula that’s part blush, part highlighter, and all must have. I just ordered two more pots of this because I never want to be without it and I think you NEED it too.
Let’s take a look at my review and swatches!
MAC Sweet Vision Magic Dust Powder is a described as a “translucent ultra-fine, light-catching pearlescent powder for face, neck and décolleté”. I think most users will see this and think of it was a MAC Skinfinish but it isn’t anything like the smoother, baked consistency of that formula. I was terribly excited that it’s pigmented enough to work as a blush especially since the shade, Sweet Vision, is a gorgeous golden pink with gold shimmer! It quite reminds me of some of my favorite shades of blush like NARS Orgasm, Benefit Bella Bamba, Bare Minerals The Natural High, yeah…so, as you can see I have a slight addiction to golden peachy pinks! It’s not a dupe but it quite reminded me of my beloved MAC Stereo Rose.
This is part of MAC’s Nutcracker Sweet Collection for Holiday 2016 and comes in a special edition hot pink and gold compact. I really loved this year’s theme and colors. Everything about it was very cute and festive! Did you see the MAC Nutcracker Lipstick Kits? They are adorable! This compact holds a generous 0.29 oz of product and since a little goes a long way, it’ll be around for a while.
The texture of the powder is soft and almost a bit flaky but very smooth and silky. The shimmer is sometimes a no go or most people and even on myself sometimes worry that it accentuates my drier areas (or pores if you have them) but this actually buffs out to a perfect luminosity. It lights my entire face up but not with a disco-ball shimmer or sparkle! The glow is refined and beautiful and the shimmer isn’t one to cling to drier or less than smooth areas on my face. The color wears excellent as well as I applied it at 6:30 AM and it lasted until well after 10PM.
You do have to be careful with this one as it is quite pigmented so a little goes a long way. Apply a small amount, buff, buff, buff, and apply more if needed!
MAC Sweet Vision Magic Dust Powder is one of the very few products that I would advise getting a backup of. I purchased one and quickly grabbed two more before they sell out. I can’t Muse Approve this one enough. The beautiful color and gorgeous glow it provides is positively swoon worthy.
