Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick are a new matte Color Sensational Lipstick Collection that are available in a wide variety of all nude, natural shades. The new Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Color Sensational Lipstick is launching with the Maybelline Spring 2017 Collection but will be apart of the permanent Color Sensational Lipstick line.

Here’s my review and thoughts.

I’m not typically a matte lipstick fan. It’s not a formula I see out but I’ve run across a variety of creamier mattes that I really do love. For example, I really love the Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick formula and also Covergirl’s new Katy Kat Matte Lipstick is divine.

Considering Maybelline’s track record with creating a fantastic creamy matte lipstick I felt very confident purchasing four of the new Inti-Matte Nude Color Lipsticks. The Color Sensational Lipstick Collection is pretty vast with a variety of colors and finishes available and Maybelline continue to add to it seasonally. I imagine that something is likely going to get the axe to make room for the Inti-Matte Nudes Lipticks and I’m thinking that could be the Buffs Collection but don’t quote me there.

These come housed in a square barrel with a frosty nude cover. Each weights in at .15 oz and will set you back around $5.49 per shade.

I actually felt the formula accentuated every single natural line in my lips. If you have dry lips, be warned, you shouldn’t purchase these. They accentuate dryness terribly and even if your lips aren’t dry, they’ll make them look dry. The texture is nice enough with a creamy thin formulation that applies easily without tugging. However, color does not apply smoothly on my lips and tends to look cracked, patchy, and dry. Dare I say it literally ages my lips and makes them look wrinkled. The color just falls into my natural lip lines and looks very messy. It’s odd because there’s potential here. The colors are quite nice nudes, the creamy consistency of the formula is fairly good, pigmentation isn’t opaque on a single pass but builds nicely, but sadly, the finish is horribly dry and looks it too!

Good news? Maybe there’s some. First off, I have to say I wasn’t pleased with many of the shades I choose. They appear to have to white a base and I ended up looking like I had a bad case of zombie lips. That’s the bad news! Also, add to the fact the formula is already so horrible and you really look like walking dead! Again, bad news. But a little clear gloss actually goes a long way and creating a really pretty nude lip look. You shouldn’t have to doctor a formula this way but I’m not much of a makeup returner so, to make this work for me clear gloss did the trick. Also, Almond Rose is a keeper shade. I”ll totally deal with the dry a$$ formula for this shade. It’s gorgeous!

All in all, Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick disappoint. I’m surprised at you Maybelline. You created a fantastic Creamy Matte Lipstick last year, why revert back to such a crummy textured matte?

Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick are available now at Amazon.com and should be available soon at Ulta.com or check your local drugstores.

I cannot agree more with your review! I ordered like 8 on amazon as I was so excited on the shade range, I haven’t received them all yet, but I have 4 and I am so sad at how they apply and the white base. just ick! I am not into matte lipstick, but their original matte line wasn’t too bad and I thought with the neutrals and corals they would be pretty, but ugh. Just unimpressed. Good thing they are cheap.

It’s very pastel isn’t it? Almost all the shades I looked at in store were really white based! I kept trying to get something warm but most of them were way cool. I don’t like mattes either but the creamy mattes they did last season were nice! These, not so much! They just cling to everything and make my lips look 90! 😀 Sorry michelle 🙁 Oh well! Clear gloss goes a long way 😀

Must say Muse, your skin is looking fab in these pics! Can you share your secrets for your fellow dry-skinned ladies?

aw thanks A! hada labo gokujyun lotion 😀 Totally my secret to beautiful skin! 🙂

I love the color of Toasted Truffle! Is the formula similar to the Loaded Bolds formula, or drier? And, do you possibly have Touchable Taupe (Buffs) or Gone Greige (Bolds) to compare the colors? I’m trying to figure out if it’s different enough to bother getting.

Might wanna fix this sentence, I had to read over it a few times before I understood haha. – ‘I actually the formula and felt it accentuated every single natural line in my lips. If you have dry lips, be warned, you should purchase these. ‘

I don’t understand how they would add these to the line being so dry and crumbly. It’s not like they can’t do a matte formula.

I got the color Brown Blush and the formula, as you say, ain’t great, but ohmygod the color. It’s the perfect dirty pink. It oxidizes a little to less than perfect, but that’s on my fuchsia skin .

So disappointing! Maybelline nudes are usually top notch! These look a little strange!

  • Lori Lynn Lodge

Darn, so disappointing because the creamy mattes are fairly ok. Thank you for the review!

My pleasure! 🙂 Hey, get one on sale and try it maybe you’ll like! Personally, no go for me 🙁

Actually, HONEY PINK had worked for me, with my Fair-Light and Peach Undertone, all because PEACH BUFF was EXTRA PALE, with NO IMPACT.

Nina, I wish I could remember lol! I’m not sure in all honesty! It looks like MAC Sweet Vision ;D
