Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer Review & Swatches
Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer ($11.99) is a new concealer that promises to fill fine lines as well as conceal and correct dark circles not to mention it promises to transform the appearance of crow’s feet. Ok, you have my attention. As a concealer fan girl I’m always looking for something to make my eyes look wide awake and happy. I’m also looking for something that erases or at the very least fills my finer lines. It seems like Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer formula fits the bill.
Let’s take a peek!
Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer is part of Revlon’s new Youth FX Collection featuring Gwen Stefani. It arrives in a click pen that holds 0.11 oz of concealer with a soft cushion applicator that’s much like the ones we’ve seen on products like Visee CC Concealer, Burberry Cashmere Concealer, and Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Concealer. I know a lot of people are kind of squeamish about applicators like this and bacteria but I have to admit I love them. They are soft, fuzzy, and incredibly gentle around the eye area. They aren’t the end all to application as your fingers are required to pat and blend out the concealer completely but they do a great job aiding application and are super gentle around the delicate skin of your eyes.
This formula is lightly creamy with a thinner texture that applies very, very easily and blends just as well. It’s light, creamy, and nicely hydrating. I think drugstore concealers still have a ways to go but formulas have improved considerably over the years and they aren’t as dry as they once were. This formula is very comfortable on drier eyes and you won’t struggle with application as it blends like a dream. I picked up the shade Light Medium (03) which is one of six different shades but it actually proved a little too light. The shades might pull a little lighter as this color was a bit pasty for me and I might need to head up to Medium. So, I suggest going up a shade if you’re making a purchase.
As I said, the application was fantastic here but I just wish the product was a bit more pigmented. It seems to have a good deal of pigment but during the blending it gets sheerer and sheerer. If you have intense dark circles, puffiness, or other issues you’re looking to conceal this might not cut it. According to the packaging it “instantly” corrects the appearance of dark circles and fine lines thanks to optical diffusers and micro-spheres. It does have a very nice brightening look to it but not a glow-y one. However, I wouldn’t say it filled my finer lines or even concealed them. This does wear a little shorter in my experience and fades away quickly but doesn’t crease during the wear! I did see extended wear when I set it with powder but it’s around five hours before it shows signs of fading.
I think the formula is a good one! It’s light, it’s creamy, it’s easy to blend! But sadly, it doesn’t quite offer the coverage I need. Not to mention it’s $12 for a very small amount of 0.11 oz. If you don’t mind the price or can find it on sale Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer is a good pick if you don’t have a ton of issues you need to conceal and just need light coverage. However, for most of us that’s sadly not the case.
Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Concealer is available now at drugstores and at amazon.com.
