Too Faced Freshly Baked Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21) is one of four limited edition liquid lipsticks that launched with the Too Faced I Want Kandee Collection which is a collaboration release between Too Faced and youTuber Kandee Johnson.

Let’s take a look!

I originally tried Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick when they launched last Spring and my review as favorable even though I’m not a liquid lipstick kind of girl. This formula promises the staying power of a stain with the pigmentation and matte finish of a liquid lipstick.

Too Faced has played with limited edition shades in the past such as the Candy Cane shade they released with Holiday 2016 and more recently their plans to introduce another limited edition in the Holiday Collection. Kandee’s selection of shades are all candy inspired and also, limited edition. Sadly, if you love these shades you might wish to stock up.

I find the formula is thin but not runny and spreads easily on my drier lips with a smooth even finish. They actually market these as having avocado oil for a hydrating feel but I fail to see that as they aren’t hydrating at all but thankfully not drying either. The formula sets to a matte finish but it takes a few seconds to do so but once set they wear for a good solid 10 to 12 hour period even when eating and drinking. I needed an oil-based eye and lip makeup remover to get the color off. I find the formula is pleasantly lightweight throughout the wear and thankfully didn’t suck moisture from my lips but didn’t provide it either.

Freshly Baked is a warm nude pink with a vanilla fragrance and flavor that’s fairly strong. They kept saying these had a candy flavor and fragrance but I get a strong vanilla one. It didn’t bother me at all but sensitive users might not love it. It does disappear once applied.

I don’t know if you need to run out and purchase Too Faced Freshly Baked Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick. I mean if you’re Kandee’s fan you might wish to support her but the shade isn’t terribly unique that you’ll absolutely NEED this one. But it might be a good time to try the Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick formula if you like some of the shades from her collection if you haven’t yet done so.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I was so sad about how quickly this shade sold out. Somehow, I don’t have a dupe for it in my collection, so if anyone knows of a similar shade (preferably matte), I’d love to hear about it!

I swatched this color when I was in Ulta. It’s very pretty! It’s sold out on their website & TF too. I knew I should of gotten it then! Haven’t been crazy over her whole collection. The banana powder didn’t smell like anything to me, and seemed dry.

    • Isabella Muse

Damn I thought it was in stock at TF sorry about that! It’s very dry 🙁 And nope, no banana! I was disappointed!

  • Wiebke

I bought three of the Kandee lipstick (all except the nude one). TF is my favorite lipstick line, but the scented ones are at the bottom of my faves list. It’s like putting a vanilla latte on your lips and tasting it for the rest of the day – annoying! Oh and to make it worse, a sugar-free latte. Lol

    • Isabella Muse

LOL sugar-free latte 😀 Def get that vanilla flavor/fragrance and that bitterness from the lack of sugar you’re right!

My SIL might like these. I need the holiday sets to stop trickling out so I can make my wish list for the 20% sales in Nov. >:-O That’s how I’ve been buying presents these last couple of years. It doesn’t help that all my female relatives/friends that I buy gifts for have birthdays in Nov/Dec/Jan either!

Milani Lust is a pretty good dupe for this one in case anyone is looking for one. I haven’t done the comparison yet on my blog, but I do have both and lust is just ever so slightly more pale…but it isn’t really noticeable. Same matte formula, but much nicer (less drying) on the lips

You wear wayyyyy too much blush. You need to get a more peachy blush that blends well. I still love you though.
