Physicians Formula Rose All Day Serum is a new brightening ant tightening highlighter that will be available at drugstores for Spring 2018. Did you catch “highlighter” in that sentence? This is the most confusing product ever because it has no idea what it wants to be. Is it a serum? Is it a highlighter? Is it both?

Here’s the details!

Physicians Formula Rose All Day Oil-Free Serum arrives in a gorgeous white bottle with pink rose petals decorating the bottle. It’s quite a beautiful presented piece of skincare (or makeup if you will) and will look quite lovely on your vanity. As you may know I’m a fan of Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil which led to the recent purchase of the Rose All Day Oil-Free Serum because at a glance I thought it would be along the lines of Pixi’s Rose Oil Blend (which I hated in the pass but weirdly really like now).

The bottle reads that it brightens and tightens but I failed to read further as the back of the bottle states it’s a “pearluminous” formula. I just assumed it was facial oil but in reality it’s more of a highlighter. I admit I was disappointed about that because I don’t really love highlighters.

If you’re a minimal makeup user with smoother, younger skin this could be a very flattering product. It’s a sheer iridescent pink shade that adds a touch of radiance to skin. The texture is a lightweight serum that has a subtle rose fragrance. It provides very little moisture and I’m unsure if it actually tightened anything. I’d say it was more of a liquid highlighter versus a skincare product since I didn’t really notice any major difference in my skin when using it. It actually pairs up nicely on bare skin with a little cheek stain worn under it as it’ll add a hint of a luminous glow without crazy disco ball shimmer. It’s one of the less dramatic highlighters that you’ll run across on the market at the moment since most brands focus on a very dramatic glow.

Physicians Formula Rose All Day Oil-Free Serum isn’t really something I loved. I thought it was a facial oil but in reality the only benefits it really has would be the ability to create a subtle radiant glow on your complexion. If that’s what you’re seeking you might just love this but if you’re looking for long term skincare benefits you likely won’t get them with this product.

Physicians Formula Rose All Day Oil-Free Serum is available at ulta.com.

I’d try it. That looks similar to the old glint of Estée Lauder Spotlight, which I loved but never had any idea how to use. So why not? Although the rose perfume you mention gives me pause. What’s it even there for?

Don’t see much upside as skincare. The only thing I conceivably would use it as, is an add on to tm. The preservative is #5 on the ingredients list, and the rose seems merely to be in the fragrance (oh, did s.o. mention fragranced skincare?) with none of the rose benefits. Will spare you further disparagement of the products, but F-no. If this is ‘natural,’ give me synthetic any day. So misleading, too.

I tried this for the first time yesterday. It’s FANTASTIC! It contains Kaduka plum (where this product sold by another company costs a lot of money). My skin appeared smoother, brighter (due to the highlighter), and YES–my skin felt tighter! This product works great! And, I am a cosmetic/skin care junkie! So, if others don’t like this, that’s fine! More for me. In fact, I liked it so much after just one use that I bought another bottle of the All Day Rose today! Don’t judge unless you have actually used this! I think it’s GREAT!

I also love this product. I’m 50 and it makes my skin feel like silk. I put it on after my moisturizer then follow with my foundation and it looks much smoother. My pores do feel tighter.

Hi Isabella, I actually just bought this yesterday after reading some great reviews. I think it has some very high vitamin c content inside, kakadu and gogi fruit. These are considered pretty high quality vitaminc so hopefully these could work as antiaging products too..anyways just wanted to reach out, because I think its more then just a highlighter…thxhi cher, just bought this yesterday and hopefully will love it too..thx

Hopefully! I wasn’t so into it sadly but hope it works out great for you ;-D enjoy!

I agree this Serum has a very strong scent that made me nauseous all day. I like the way it looks on my skin but it doesn’t really firm. I must confess it does brighten because off the luminous part. It doesn’t feel like a serum but more on the lotion side. I was expecting better from Physicians Formula. I have so many products of theirs that I’m loving.

Hi Mary! Yeah, the scent is pretty strong thankfully it did disappear for me after a few minutes. I was disappointed overall though!

The bottle & branding caught my eye – the label lacks usage instructions – so I bought it just to find out it’s purpose online. I applied it as an under-eye treatment & corrector about 20 minutes ago. I experienced a cooling sensation, a plumping effect comparable to having filler injected in the eye-troughs with the added bonus of smooth firm white pink glowing under-eye concealer.

I am very happy that I found another awesome alternative to filler injections in the tear trough. This product is much much easier to obtain and a fraction of the cost of the amazing 90-second miracle tubes that I bought at Kohls. I’m feeling hopeful that the oil-free Rose All-Day may be better.

    Best,
    Peggy

That’s great news Peggy! I’m happy it is working for you so well!

I bought this product not knowing where or how to apply it. It’s oil free so it glows but does not look greasy or oily. I decided to apply my moisturizer to my chest and neck and theb apply rose product over to see what happens. I was surprised to see toned out neck and chest with a pleasant color / slight glow. .now my face, neck and chest look cohesive. I then applied a hydrating concealer to a few problem areas on my chest and was happy with the outcome. I will use this product for that purpose.

I agree with all the comments above, however after applying it to my whole face and drying… I can rub it off lke build up along my jaw and cheek line. Anyone else experience this?

I bought the mini size of this before I read your review, I wish I’d read it sooner. I had no idea it was a highlighter and I hate/have no use for highlighters. Well I decided to try it anyway and see if it did anything nice for my face. Turns out I really hate the look of this on my skin, BUT…. omg the smell is divine! It doesn’t smell like traditional rose, it’s actually a super green, fresh cut grass kind of smell with a hint of rose. I would wear this as a body lotion just for the scent, and I hate using lotion! I MUST find a perfume that smells like this. Musey you are a perfume gal, any suggestions??? Anyone else out there??
