NYX Strictly Vinyl Lip Gloss ($7.99) is yet another new lipgloss from NYX that launched for Spring 2018. I recently reviewed NYX Super Cliquey Matte Lipstick and I did rant a little about the fact that the brand releases too many lipsticks and lipglosses that are virtually the same formula but just with a new name. I swear they must have at least five liquid lipsticks which are all matte in finish with a creamy texture that just have different names and shades but in reality are exactly the same damn thing.

Thankfully enough NYX Strictly Vinyl Lip Gloss is not quite like anything I’ve tried before from them aside for perhaps Butter Gloss but this has a much thicker consistency. So, I’m pretty happy it’s not a rerun of a formula NYX already has available. I’m also happy it’s a full color gloss and not a long-wearing liquid matte lipstick because 1. NYX has TOO many of those already! and 2. I’m all about getting back to glossy lips please and thank you!

So, if glossy pigmented lips are your thing you’ll enjoy this formula. NYX Strictly Vinyl Lipgloss is available in eight shade selections with a price of $8 and a size of 0.11 oz. The applicator is long and slightly slanted that saturates well with color. The formula is thick, slightly tacky, and fragrance-free with a smooth, easy glide on my dry lips. The texture clings a little to drier areas and finer lines but if I go over the line once or twice with the applicator I was able to achieve a smooth finish. It’s just the initial application that’s a little patchy and uneven but it was easy enough to correct.

NYX Strictly Vinyl Lipgloss Swatches (Sugar Mama)

The color is intense with full-coverage on a single application that completely covered my natural lip color and drenched it in beautiful color. It doesn’t have a “vinyl” finish but it does have a nice glossiness which lasts for a good three hours into the five hour wear. During the wear the shine not only stayed strong but the color did as well without breaking down, fading, or feathering. All in all a very solid performer.

NYX Strictly Vinyl Lipgloss is a refreshing change in a sea of long-wearing liquid lipsticks that are matte in finish. This provide full color, a nice shine, and a comfortable formula that left my lips nicely hydrated throughout the long wear.

I’d totally buy more of these.

NYX Strictly Vinyl Lipgloss is available now at ulta.com.

Could not imagine these being pull off, like the liner, but that’s what my baser self kind of hoped. Looks good on you &formula sounds decent. How would you say it compares to abh glosses?

Finally something for people with dry, textured lips that provides more color than just a gloss. I’ve thrown out most of my matte lip stuff cuz I just couldn’t make it work. I like to be able to just swipe and go in the mornings.

I wish these came in a color I wanted. I’m so glad to see something other than matte everything!
