MAC Hint Of Colour Lip Oil Better Late Than Never

MAC Hint Of Colour Lip Oil ($17) has arrived at Ulta and I say better late than never. Ya know, doesn’t lip oil sometimes feel like the trend that never goes away? Don’t get me wrong, I love lip oil! Give me ALL the lip oil for my dry lips! But it seems like a trend that constantly gets regurgitated at least once ever other season.

Like we’ll head into Fall and one says anything about lip oil but suddenly Winter Collections launch and some brand, some where is trying to make lip oil a thing. After that, things go radio silent and we had into Spring without a whisper of lip oils. Suddenly, Summer arrives and again, someone is out there in the beauty world trying to make you buy lip oil.

And hey, I’m ok with that because I generally like lip oils. Milani helped put the formula on the map in 2016 with the launch of their Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment and soon after we saw a slew of different formulas like E.L.F. Tinted Lip Oil, Hard Candy Blooming Lip Oil, Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil, Burts Bees Tinted Lip Oil, and many, many, many others.

MAC’s a little late with their launch of Hint Of Colour Lip Oil but there is no doubt I’m going to want to check it out. At $17 per shade it isn’t the cheapest lip oil out there but it isn’t the most expensive either.

It’s available in five shades which act to give lips a subtle tint as well as hydration with a glossy finish. The formula contains five different hydrating oils but unfortunately, I can’t confirm what those oils are since ingredients haven’t been listed yet. Have no fear, I’ll try them out and let you know.

Shades:

  • Doll To Diva (hot bubble gum pink)
  • Pale Princess (light lemon yellow)
  • Candy Drop (bright grape purple)
  • La La Love You (creamy magenta)

Or if you’re curious for yourself MAC Hint Of Colour Lip Oil is available now at ulta.com.

No offense, Muse, but it looks to me like nude (in both eyeshadow and lipstick) is the trend that won’t go away…with matte lipstick coming in second!

Sorry that was unclear – I was replying to your comment about lip oils being “the trend that won’t go away.” No shortage of those! 😀

Hi Muse ❤️❤️❤️ Wondering if the Mac Lip oils leave a stain behind. I’m constantly on the search for a lippy that’s moisturizing but has staying power …

I actually saw these at Cosmetic Company Outlet a couple months ago and was wondering what they were doing there since I had never heard of them. Wonder if they were slated for an earlier release…
