5 stars out of 5

It Cosmetics Superstar Flawless Foundation Brush ($30) is a new, limited edition star-shaped foundation brush that’s launching this July at Ulta.com. How stinking cute is this? But guess what? It’s totally functional too even if it looks impractical!

Let’s check it out!

By now I’m sure you’re familiar with the It Cosmetics Love Beauty Fully Love is the Foundation Brush that has a heart-shaped head which the brand brings back seasonally for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

To celebrate 4th of July this year I’m sure you’re going to want to pick up the It Cosmetics Superstar Flawless Foundation Brush to pair up with your Love Beauty Fully Love is the Foundation Brush because who doesn’t want heart and star-shaped makeup brushes in their collection right!?

When this arrived in the mail on Monday I was pretty hyped about it. It’s adorable to say the least. It has a iridescent pearl handle with a short, densely bristled star-shaped head. It’s just too cute but it did look a little impractical for foundation application after my initial excitement died down a little.

I’m happy to report it’s actually pretty brilliant. The bristles are a lot more dense compared to the Love Beauty Fully Love Brush which translates to really flawless buffing. Don’t get me wrong here, although dense, they are still very soft but the density goes a long way at allowing for really smooth foundation blending. Oddly enough the star-shape works in my favor as it gets around the corners and contours of my face really easily. For example, the tips that make up the star are great for smaller areas like under my eyes or down the sides of my nose.

I was a little concerned about storing the brush and ruining the bristles. But it does come with a plastic brush protector which will keep the bristles nice and safe. It’s a little flimsy but it does the job! I took a photo of it above so you can see it in action!

So, all in all, a great little brush that’s not only cute but completely functional as well!

Loves this!

Muse Approved.

This is such a gimmick but I want it! I love stars! I’ll never outgrow stars, this is just so cute! The fact you can use it too makes it all the better.

    • Saoirse

Actually, I don’t see it as gimmicky at all. I use two brushes for my foundation, a regular one and a small one for different parts of my face. It looks like this brush could do the work of both of those brushes and be one less brush to have to wash.

  • Saoirse

Ooh!!! This is absolutely a must-have for me! The moment I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for getting into the trickier areas of my face. It’s synthetic, I hope…

  • Lacy

i need this stat!!! I love anything with stars. stars will always be my favorit e shape… I can’t wait to get this!!!

  • Brooke Jones

I needs this! I just bought their triangular shaped brush and I love it. My nose area was so dry and flaky that I basically had to stop using foundation brushes. The only thing that made that area look decent was a makeup sponge. But my new brush is magic and doesn’t create a problem. I bet this one is the same. I was so amazed by the way it got around my nose and eyes too. I will definitely be picking this one up! Great review!

yay ;-D I’m glad to hear it. I thought it fit surprisingly well around the corners of my nose! I wasn’t so sure when I saw it for the first time but after using it I really like it ;-D Thanks!

I do believe this arrived at Ulta online, for those who hold out till the last minute with coupons. And, yeah, Wendy…I guess I got suspended in May, and have had to call. I mean, wtf? Wouldn’t it be easier to restore the email? Maybe they had a computer issue. I got the extra points by email request and the 20 by calling. It is an ass pain, though. Muse, the wait vs order is like the save vs spend points thing, for Ulta. My choice is always to wait, as at times they add new stuff at breakneck speed, and the coming soons can convert.

    • Bonnie

@KJH – did you get dropped from Ulta too? Is this a widespread issue? I just got around to calling them a couple of weeks ago because I noticed I was getting zero emails and no mailers either. Customer service turned me off and back on again – like we do our phones and computers when nothing else works. I’m yet to get anything.

  • Wendy

must be sold out, i can’t find it on Ulta’s site and it was there yesterday 🙁

  • Saoirse

Is this brush already sold out? I can’t find it on Ulta’s website.

  • Shonn

I had this in my cart, then went back to purchase and it was gone . Now it’s off their website. I hope they restock !

      • kimkats

Muse, do you know if they’re going to restock it?? I wannit…. (wahwahwah) and I know I shouldn’t have dithered around, but I wannit now…. 😀

        • Isabella Muse

I sure hope so. It disappeared within seconds of the launch! No word from It though!
