Wet n Wild Fire Dragon vs Ice Dragon ProLine Brush Review

4 stars out of 5

Wet n Wild Fire Dragon vs Ice Dragon ProLine Bronzer Brush and ProLine Highlighting Brush are two new, limited edition brushes that launched with the new Wet n Wild Fire Dragon vs Ice Dragon Fall 2018 Collection.

As with all of the collection the brushes have a Game of Throne deem with a heavy emphasis on dragons so a great big nod to everyone’s favorite Mother of Dragons.

I should start by saying I don’t really buy into all these “themed” makeup brush collections. I mean we have Tarte doing those mermaid tail brushes and a number of other brands doing all sorts of themed brushes! Like Storybook Cosmetics does Harry Potter Wand Brushes. Let me tell you, I’m a complete geek but I’m also pretty logical and I don’t find any of these brushes really practical for daily use. I’m actually ok with basic black hands and soft bristles that don’t shed and stand up well when washed numerous times! It’s all I need really.

But I have to admit the Wet n Wild Fire Dragon vs Ice Dragon ProLine Bronzer Brush and ProLine Highlighting Brush did draw me in. I think the brushes are fairly practical for daily use and still manage to have a really pretty design which did surprise and delight me.

The cruelty-free bristles are soft with no shedding issues and washed and dried well while retaining their shape and soft texture. The bronzer brush was my favorite as it had longer bristles and worked nicely with face powders. The highlighter brush had nice stiff bristles which made it create for picking up loose highlighters and gently buffing it onto cheeks.

I love, love, love the handles. Wet n Wild Fire Dragon ProLine Bronzer Brush is an ombre cranberry shade and shaped like a dragon tail where as the Wet n Wild Ice Dragon ProLine Highlighter Brush is a cool, crisp ombre blue and also shaped like a dragon tail but the scales are a bit different compared to the bronzer brush.

I think these are a really cool collector’s piece of you’re a fan of Game of Thrones or most importantly Daenerys Targaryen.

Where to buy

Ulta

Wet n Wild Ice Dragon ProLine Highlighter Brush and Wet n Wild Fire Dragon ProLine Bronzer Brush are two rather cool collector’s brushes that Game of Throne fans will adore. With dragon tail shaped handles each brush has soft cruelty-free bristles which I experienced no shedding issues. The brushes both performed fairly well and I had no problems washing them as they retained their shape and softness. Totally a great pick up if you’re a collector but also a practical set of brushes that are usable for makeup application!

Pros

  • Perfect for Game of Thrones fans.
  • Cute but practical selection of brushes.
  • Soft, cruelty-free bristles.

Cons

  • A little difficult to find as the collection hasn’t launched online yet nor at major drugstores.

Who

I think this is easy buy for Game of Thrones and makeup fans alike. The brushes are really appeal to my geeky side but they are practical for makeup application as well. The dragon tail handle are very cool but also don’t hinder the application of makeup!

I purchased this item.

Tangential, but what is the business relationship between Harmon’s an BB&B? Local BB&B has a big Harmon’s section, new to me.

    • Isabella Muse

BB&B is the parent company of Christmas Tree Shops, Face Values, Harmons, and a few other stores.

The nearest BB&B with a Harmons to me, is in Pasadena. With traffic, that’s like an hour and a half drive. Do I really want that Bronzer Brush that badly? Maybe.

  • Michelle

How did the bronzers in this collection look? Were they shimmery? Are they similar to what is already a part of their permanent line?

  • Michelle

Thanks for the bronzer review. Are these brushes comparable to other brushes in their line? The highlighting brush looks very similar to the highlighting brush from the mermaid collection. I also wondered if the bronzer brush was similar to the powder brush from their pro line.

np! Wasn’t really a review 🙂 just a post about it! I’m not sure I don’t have the mermaid highlighting brush nor the powder brush for the original line so can’t really compare! Sorry!
