Wet n Wild Fit for a Queen Coloricon Eyeshadow Quad ($4.99) is one of four limited edition eyeshadow palettes that launched with the Wet n Wild Fire Dragon Vs Ice Dragon Fall 2018 Collection.

I was really loving this quad because it has a rather gorgeous red which is sadly matte but I’ll take it. I haven’t tried it yet but that red is going to be used to line my eyes at some point this Fall.

Let’s take a look at Wet n Wild Fit for a Queen Coloricon Eyeshadow Quad below!

Wet n Wild Fit for a Queen Coloricon Eyeshadow Quad is likely the brand’s nod to Daenerys Targaryen but aside from the name the packaging really doesn’t give too much of a nod to Game of Thrones or Dany. If you’re looking for a bigger nod you might want to haul some of the Wet n Wild Fire Dragon Vs Ice Dragon Megaglo Highlighting Powders as those have really pretty imprints of dragons on the powder. I guess they can’t get too detailed with these things without pissing off HBO and GRRM too much.

This is a warmer palette that represents the Fire Dragon in the collection. For those seeking cooler shades you’ll want to take a look at the Ice Dragon portion of this color story. The palette contains four shades two of which are satiny shimmers and the other two are matte. As with all Coloricon Quads there’s a helpful imprint located on each shade to tell you where to place the shade (eyelid, brow bone, crease, and transitional shade) and there’s also a helpful diagram on the back for color placement.

It’s a really easy to use assortment of shades that you can create a really easy look with as all the shades really jive well together. The matte red contrasts beautifully with the brassy gold and the peachy brown bone highlighter actually works quite nicely to highlight the completed look with the soft transitional tan shade working nicely to diffuse the darker colors.

All four shades had excellent color pay off however, I struggled a little with the brassy gold lid shade which applied a little drier on my lids but I was still able to pack color on using an eyeshadow sponge applicator. I think that shade and the browbone shade will pick up poorly if you’re using a regular brush but should be fine if you have a sponge applicator handy. I tried both and did struggle picking color up with a brush and felt more comfortable building the color with the sponge eyeshadow applicators. Blending went well and I was able to contrast shades very easily and nicely. I experienced no fall out issues with this formula. I think the Coloricon Quads have gone through a good change as they used to be a hell of a lot frostier back in the day and that’s been eliminated completely much to my delight.

I wouldn’t say Wet n Wild Fit for a Queen Coloricon Eyeshadow Quad was one of the best Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Palettes I’ve tried but it isn’t the worst either. It has some minor application issues but at this price it performs fairly well for what you get. Plus the nod to Game of Thrones might just make you want to pick it up!

Where to buy

Ulta

Wet n Wild Fit for a Queen Coloricon Eyeshadow Quad is one of four, limited edition eyeshadow palettes that the brand launched with their Fire Dragon Vs Ice Dragon Fall 2018 Collection. All in all, it was a fairly good palette with some minor dryness but blendability was good although, I did struggle picking color up with a regular brush and resorted to a sponge one for the best color pay off and application. I liked this one well enough but it wasn’t one of the brand’s best Coloricon Quads that I’ve tried.

Pros

  • Affordably priced eyeshadow palette.
  • Easy to use, colors work well together, application was simple without a lot of no how to contrast shades.
  • Very appealing nod to Game of Thrones for fans.
  • Nice color selection for Fall looks.

Cons

  • A few shades turned out drier and weren’t easily picked up with a brush.

Who

Wet n Wild Fit for a Queen Coloricon Eyeshadow Quad is an easy pick up for anyone who adores Game of Thrones. The cute little nod in the name and the collection in general should be very appealing to Game of Thrones geeks. But aside from that the quad has some very nice Fall shades even though a few needed a little TLC during application!

Will this collection be available at ulta or other stores? Unfortunately there is no Harmon near me.

Wet n Wild hasn’t released any info for it yet but I imagine it’ll be on their website as well as at other drugstores soon!

Please excuse some blatant and selfish tooting my own horn here — I was an extra in a movie with Rami Malek once, and I was so ridiculously excited! 😀

I feel like this quad is more inspired by Cersei Lannister or even The Red Woman, definately not Daenerys (whom is more silvers and blues to me).

Thanks for the review! I think I’m going to pick this up just for that lovely red, and the other shades are a bonus. I’m really feeling maroon this fall.
