4 stars out of 5

Juvia’s Place The Festival Liquid Lipstick in Soil ($12) is a gorgeous terracotta orange creamy matte liquid lipstick that launched recently at Ulta. Yup, if you haven’t heard or you’re living under a rock, Juvia’s Place is now available at Ulta.com.

As you know, considering I’ve discussed it to death, I’m not a fond fan of liquid lipstick especially matte ones but on occasion I’ve been known to wear them and even purchase one and such was the case with Juvia’s Place The Festival Liquid Lipstick.

Maybe it was the bright package, maybe the orange color, or the inexpensive price, I’m not really sure but I did get tempted by this!

I think I’ll blame it on Fall! The shade is that perfect warm orange that reminds me of falling leaves!

I gotta say Juvia’s Place sure goes out of their way to package up a single liquid lipstick. They present this in a gorgeous metallic orange and gold box that slides open to reveal the lipstick. Pretty amazing packaging for one lipstick right? I actually didn’t toss out the box since it was so pretty.

Juvia’s Place Liquid Lipstick Swatches (Soil and Afrik)

The lipstick is $12 and 0.63 oz in size with absolutely no flavor nor fragrance. It’s a creamy yet slightly runny texture that’s pretty standard when it comes to liquid lipsticks like this. I always find the texture on some of these long-wearing lip colors a little bit of a mess to use since the sponge applicators are so heavily saturated with color I feel compelled to wipe off the excess before I apply and get it all over the place.

The creamy texture spreads easily on my lips and a single layer will get you full, intense opaque color. It’s very, very pigmented to say the least. Once applied it initially has a very shiny texture but with a minute it sets to a matte finish. Once it’s on, it’s on. You can drink, eat, and play hard in this and it won’t move from your lips. I had no issues with migration, the color remained very smooth without cracking or adhering to drier areas. It was beautifully smooth the entire wear. I did experience a bit of dryness throughout the wear but it wasn’t uncomfortable and it was pretty much the standard dry feeling liquid lipsticks are known for.

The color was what really grabbed me on this. It’s really a gorgeous shade that I’m going to enjoy pairing up with Fall looks!

All in all, Juvia’s Place The Festival Liquid Lipstick was a great purchase for me.

Anyone try this formula?

Where to buy

Ulta

Juvia’s Place The Festival Liquid Lipstick is $12 and 0.63 oz in size. This warm terracotta orange had a creamy slightly runny texture that has a matte long-wearing finish that wore for several hours without cracking, feathering, or adhering to drier areas. It wasn’t hydrating and had a bit of the normal dryness associated with liquid lipsticks but nothing uncomfortable. I detected no fragrance or flavor in the formula.

Pros

  • Great pick for lovers of long-wearing lipstick liquid.
  • Very pigmented!
  • Affordable!
  • Beautifully presented and packaged.

Cons

  • A tad drying but nothing abnormal to liquid lipstick formulas.

Who

Juvia’s Place The Festival Liquid Lipstick will be an easy pick up for those that embrace and love long-wearing liquid lipstick formulas or anyone who likes matte lipstick. I had no issues with the formula and felt it performed great aside from minor drying commonly associated with formulas like this!

I was tempted to buy this but wasn’t sure since I never hear about Juvia’s Place except on the filtered pics on Instagram. You make me want to get it.

It’s actually quite lovely! I don’t really like liquid lipsticks but this was nice. A little dry, but nothing that isn’t typical of a formula like this ;-D I haven’t tried much from JP either! The Warrior Palette is pretty lovely too!

This looks pretty on you. Is The size is 0.63 ounces? Seems very big for lip cream. Most liquid lipstick are about 0.20 ounces. Please confirm. Thanks

that’s what it says on Ulta’s site! Sadly the packaging/box doesn’t confirm that amount! Seemed a misprint! but I can’t confirm sadly since it isn’t listed on the packaging!
