By the Way the Tarte Creaseless Concealer Brush Is As Bad as the Concealer Itself

Tarte Creaseless Concealer Brush review

Tarte Creaseless Concealer Brush ($24) is a new cruelty-free oval fiber paddle brush that might remind you of the Artis Brush Collection or similar brushes I’ve reviewed in the past like Makeup Revolution Precision Contour Brushes, Real Techniques Blend + Blur Brushes, Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Face Makeup Brush, and others.

Ok, so here’s the thing.

I purchased Tarte Creaseless Concealer and I somehow decided, “Oh to buy the new Tarte Creaseless Concealer Brush too!” knowing full well I have plenty of brushes EXACTLY like this. But you know that feeling you get when you see a makeup product and some accessory they are selling alone with it that sort of demands you also buy it because that accessory will magically make the makeup product even better somehow? I can’t be alone feeling this way right?!!? Anyway, that feeling came over me and I was like ok, might as well buy it and try it out with concealer even though you already have brushes like this already.

So, I am not a fan of the Creasless Concealer. It’s very thick, very emollient, very difficult to blend, and it creases horribly. On some levels I give Tarte props for introducing the Creaseless Concealer Brush to go along with the concealer because it does on some level make the blending process a lot easier because baby, fingers are not going to cut it with that formula! This brush does indeed help things along considerably.

It has short, densely packed bristles that are fairly soft although I will say that I have brushes that I purchased at TJ Maxx like this with better handles and softer bristles. This is in fact why I consider this brush bad and also the fact that it is very lightweight and the handle is very flimsy. I mean dude, I can buy this type of brush in a three or five pack at any number of places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls for like ten bucks! Tarte charges $24 dollars! At least make the handle a little less lightweight and flimsy and the bristles a LITTLE bit softer for that price guys!

Tarte Creaseless Concealer Brush review

Honestly, they should have bundled this with the concealer free of charge (QVC.com actually sells a bundle for $27 that does include the brush and concealer).

Sorry but that’s my two cents on this brush.

I’m feeling bruised and ripped off. Someone get me a cookie.

Own it?

Feel free to rave or rant it yourself!

Where to buy

Sephora Tarte QVC Macy’s

Tarte Creaseless Concealer Brush is a cruelty-free oval paddle brush creased to be used with the newly formulated Tarte Creaseless Concealer. The bristles are densely packed, fairly soft, and shed-free however, I’ve experienced softer from a variety of drugstore and no-name brands with a far cheaper price tag. The handle is a bit flimsy and lightweight which also deducts value from the brush in my opinion and although it appears to have the ability to stand up by itself, it does not which isn’t worth anything but does deserve a mention.

Pros

  • Does indeed aid the application of Creaseless Concealer.

Cons

  • Too expensive, same as no name brands that are 75% cheaper and can be found at discount department stores.
  • Lightweight and flimsy handle.
  • Bristles are soft but I’ve experienced better from cheaper paddle brushes.

Who

If you like the Creasless Concealer formula MAYBE you might want to dish out for this brush as it does do a good job blending that difficult to blend formula. But in the long run I feel like there’s a ton of brushes like it which are way cheaper.

Exactly my thoughts on both products, and I love Tarte. I just tried the fab bendy today, and I’m pleased, but it’s only been today. I’m fair light neutral in tarte and fair 2 worked right brush blended and set with bye bye loose powder. The tilbury box was meh. The kvd waterline liquid liner was painful, honestly. The new it cc is okay. The nicest new release I have gotten lately is the pmg trio I snagged on my way home by chance (yaaas!!!#@$@). And hopefully the fab bendy.

I swatched the fab bendy but haven’t wore it yet! the swatch alone impressed me! Very creamy and feels hydrating ;-D I’m light medium in shape tape but the light medium in creaseless seemed pasty and a different shade. oh no really? what was inside? pmg trio?

We’re the handles on them a might bit stronger, I’ve broken two and STILL bought replacements on sale, are the pur cosmetics in the single boxes. I don’t know if the set is similar, but I’m pretty confident saying their brushes are pretty damn good. When pur has, very frequently it seems, a good sale, they’re a steal. Every tarte Brush I gave had ends up being a better dust collector and I still buy them. If I just didn’t and used it for a brush on sale…

omg the tarte one you broke twice!? WOW! I haven’t tried the Pur ones but I don’t doubt they are!

Autocorrect fails all over, lol. I was saying the pur cosmetics concealer paddle brush was amazing enough to have bought it twice because it broke at the handle the first time. It’s an amazing brush, actually all the brushes on pur cosmetics site are great. They often have 50% off or bogo sales, so they’re usually a steal. Every tarte Brush I’ve bought has ended up being unused on my vanity. The pmg trio was the skin show mini that sold out online, I chanced a trip to Sephora on my commute and it was there. It’s pretty nice. That charlotte tilbury box is growing on me since last night. Eye cheat is nice, lipstick is surprisingly wearable shade (duchess) and the stuck is, too (formentera). Goddess clay mask, I’ll use. I’m not sure about the night bronzer. As a pale girl, that makes me nervous. Lol.

Chocolate Chip or Sugar cookie? Yes, agree with this! I tried this just for trying because I love Shape Tape, and now have a scratched left cheek ouch! It brushes are still the best value in a bundle in my humble opinion.

  • Silvia

Lol! Appreciate the advice. Not like I need another brush but do love them! I like Elf brushes pretty darn good and Ecotools I love the bronzer bluish is so good also the blush brush. Bobbi Brown has day me nice good more pricey but darn it! Lol! WetnWild makes great for this ghost since I cannot pack a heavy punch I find them excellent actually not bad at all! Also have found some good stuff at TJ Max really dense ones and soft bristles.
