BH Cosmetics Concealer Fan Brush 5 ($7) is a synthetic bristled brush with a unique fan shape that was created to fit into the contours under your eyes and around your face that need to be concealed. I typically use my trust E.L.F. Studio Concealer Brush to “paint” concealer under my eyes and I blend out with my finger. It’s favorite brush of mine that I’ve used for many years even when I was of the firm belief that concealer brushes were unnecessary! It does a good job with formula that are thicker and emollient as it thins them out and makes them easier to blend.

I wasn’t in the market for a new concealer brush when I saw the BH Cosmetics Concealer Fan Brush 5 pop up at Ulta.com but the unusual shape intrigued me so I dropped it in with my order.

BH Cosmetics Concealer Fan Brush 5 is available in a few sizes but the one I have hear has smaller, shorter bristles in a fan shape with a fairly sturdy red handle. I actually like the idea of this brush since the fan head fits nicely into the wells of my eyes as that would be what I’d be using it for.

At first I was a little concerned the fan shape would be awkward to use but I adapted and quickly became a fan of this little brush. It does a very nice job smoothing concealer out into a thin layer under my eyes. I wouldn’t say it excelled at blending but it does smooth concealer out in a way that it makes it easier to blend with another brush or your fingers. It also sheers thicker formulas out as well as my E.L.F. Brush. When you’re concealing with formulas like Tarte Shape Tape and It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eyes brushes like this come in very handy to sheer our those thicker formula.

All in all, this is a handy little brush that will make applying your concealer a little more easier and a lot more flawless!

Where to buy

Ulta

BH Cosmetics Concealer Fan Brush 5 is a small fan brush created to apply concealer under the contour of your eyes or around the contours of your face. The small, unique shape is surprisingly easy to use under my eyes and did a nice job “painting” my concealer on and allowing me to sheer out thicker textured concealer so they didn’t cake or crease into finer lines. I wouldn’t say it was ideal for blending but it did do a good job applying concealer and allowed me to easily blend with my fingers after application!

Pros

  • Ideal for concealer application (but not for blending)!
  • Fits into contoured areas easily such as the well under your eyes.
  • Very affordable an inexpensive!

Cons

  • Not idea for blending!

Who

Anyone who uses thicker or emoillent concealers will find the brush a handy little tool for applying and sheering out those types of formula for better blending so concealer doesn’t fall into finer lines or crease under eyes!

Thanks. Lots of the brushes BH released seem to be unusual and fill in holes in the regular brush stash. Lots of other fan brushes, too. Eye fans are a new concept to me. Worth another look…for yet another 20 at U. (tangent: …and the second 20 at S….). tangent 2: are there any new Waynes for Xmas? And are you doing a Beautylish pre-card sale prep for us readers?

I bought one of these brushes when they first popped up at Ulta (the #7 I think). I love it. Such a great tool for contouring and so soft.
