Milani Luminoso Glow Shimmering Face Palette is a new highlighter, blush, and bronzer palette that includes eight shades which you can mix and match to create a luminous glow on cheeks and face which launched with the Milani Spring 2019 Collection.

As you already know I’m not much of a highlighter girl but I was pretty much convinced I could use this palette as a blush one since the shades looked so pigmented in promotional images. I was a bit disappointed at the $17.99 price tag though. Milani’s prices are pretty high lately with some of their palettes like the Soft & Sultry Eyeshadow Palette and Gilded Desires Eye & Face Palette prices at $20 each. The quality is here and well worth the price but I’m always a little conservative at spending that much on drugstore makeup. Somehow, my mind can’t wrap around paying $15 plus dollars for anything at the drugstore.

None the less, purchasing the Milani Luminoso Glow Shimmering Face Palette was a no brainer as the quality has been consistent with the brand for year’s now and their newest offerings have all proven excellent additions to my collection.

Milani Luminoso Glow Shimmering Face Palette is housed in a gold plastic rectangle palette with a clear top. The palette holds 0.37 oz of bronzer, highlighter, and blush and it was made in Taiwan.

It’s split into eight shades and two different quads. The left side of the palette has four the four warmer bronzer shades and the right hand side contains the blush ones which are gorgeous hues of coral, peach, and gold. The layout and shades sort of remind me of the Milani Color Harmony Blush Palettes that launched last year and I couldn’t help but think how much better this palette would have been if it was designed like that palette in the fact the shades all combined into one sans the dividers they use for each shade in this palette. But more on that issue in a bit….!

This formula is quite lovely if not a bit loose. The texture is quite soft with quite a bit of refined shimmer in some of the shades. I’m always turned off with how frosty highlighters look on me but the thinner texture really blended well for me with a smooth finish on my face that added a nice luminosity without looking frosty. The powder didn’t adhere to my drier areas nor did it accentuate any imperfections. The shimmer seems a lot but once blended it added a nice glow without a disco ball finish. I’m a huge fan of the right hand side of the palette that holds the pretty coral and peachy blushes. They were gorgeous and adding the lighter gold shade on top created a perfect golden peach on my cheeks! One thing to note is they swatch rather sheer but the colors can easily be built up and have a really good color pay off aside from the softer gold shades towards the middle front of the palette which are most suited as highlighter. The other shades are all quite pigmented!

As I said above I did have some issues with the fact the shades all have a divider between them and I found this made it a pain to just use a single shade as my brush didn’t fit into the tiny triangle well. I wish they had left off those dividers and had the shades run together in the same way the Harmony Blush Palettes did. I think it would have made picking up color and using individual colors a lot easier. If Milani ever choose to release some of these shades as individual blushes, highlighters, or bronzers I’d totally buy them as it would be much easier to enjoy them packaged on their own or even with four shades in one powder.

I think it’s a gorgeous palette although, I do wish it was a smidge cheaper! But all in all, the formula is quite lovely, blends easily, and looks very pretty on my cheeks! It’s the perfect palette for Spring and Summer looks and especially a nice pick if you’re a fan of golden bronzers, highlighters, and blushes.

Milani Luminoso Glow Shimmering Face Palette is available now online and available soon in stores.

Where to buy

Ulta

Milani Luminoso Glow Shimmering Face Palette is a new Spring 2019 highlighter, blush, and bronzer palette that’s $17.99 and 0.37 oz in size. The palette contains eight shades which can be mixed, matched, and worn individually. Unfortunately, the packaging did make it a little harder to wear shades individually due to the separators. The formula was soft and silky with a fine micro shimmer that added a nice luminosity to my cheeks without being too sparkly. The colors swatch a little sheer but easily built up on my face! I did have a slight issue with the near $20 price tag since this was made in Taiwan it would have been nice to see it priced a bit cheaper!

Pros

  • Luminous but not frosty!
  • Thinner formula was easy to blend without being cakey or adhering to drier areas.
  • Very pretty shade selection that added warmth and a pop of color to cheeks and face.

Cons

  • A bit expensive for drugstore makeup!
  • Wells are a bit smaller and the colors are divided by plastic making it difficult to use an indivudal shade without picking up other colors.

Who

Anyone who loves highlighters should get on famously with the Milani Luminoso Glow Shimmering Face Palette and even those who don’t!

I added this to my “love” list on my Ulta account. It actually looks way more pigmented in your pics vs the pic on Ulta.com. Glad to hear the blushes are pigmented. I agree, the dividers will be a pain but I was still thinking it is a gorgeous palette.

It’s beautiful! I really like the way it looks on although, it does swatch a lot sheerer. The damn divides are a pain though 🙁 with they just left them out!

ps I was up at 5am typing this and realized I was called them “separators” lol and I’m like sh&t I can’t find the word for dividers. Ha your comment finally hit the light bulb switch in my exhausted mind!

So, the palette is too small for brushes to pick up actual individual colors? Even tapered HL brushes? Some days, esp looking back at some Pupa, I think we ought to have a sub-mini brush collection, for the small pans. If this came in plum (and it might yet) i’d be all over it. though Plum Rays, or whatever it was called, wasn’t plum on me….

Hello, I have not seen these in stores yet but a bunch of empty space so I guess a reset is coming at Walgreens. What I did notice was a lot of their stuff was cleaned for Milani, the glosses, the lip scrubs, the harmony blushes and the spotlight face and eye strobe with 3 three colors. Luminoso almost seems to be a one stop shop combing all of thoservice products or shades into one pan which made them smaller and I agree the dividers were not used on the others and are not necessary now. It showcases how little of each color you get.

Walgreens seems to get Milani’s newest stuff before anyone else so hopefully we see these in store soon! ;-D Too true about the dividers! I actually would love these individually! Especially the lovely blush shades!

I would just use these as eyeshadows. I’m not so much a highlighter/bronzer girl.
