I purchased Ulta Jelly Gloss Lip Gel and a Juicy Jelly Lipgloss on a whim a few weeks ago when there was one of their traditional BOGO offers. I was quite happy to see some of Ulta’s Beauty Collection on sale during the 21 Days of Beauty as I wanted a few more shades and at $4 each they are a way better deal than the BOGO one.

Ulta’s makeup collection is as weird as the Sephora one in the fact sometimes their stuff is a complete miss and other times you find gems. In this case Jelly Gloss Lip Gel was a win for me. But if you don’t like thicker lipglosses, don’t bother. This is a thick, creamy, full-coverage lipgloss that has a glossy finish. I think lipgloss is one of the weirdest things in the world of beauty. Most times you can spend $20 bucks plus on a lipgloss and end up with sheer nothingness to show for it. It’s always nice to run across a lipgloss that actually has pigment. Jelly Gloss Lip Gel is completely opaque your first application! This isn’t a sheer lipgloss by any means! It provides full color on a single layer. It has a really thick gel texture but it adheres to lips in a smooth, even finish that’s glossy and shiny. It doesn’t migrate nor feather and wears for a good four to give hours on my drier lips with a very nice hydrating feel. For sensitive users, it does have a sweet flavor and fragrance.

Overall, it’s just a well formulated lipgloss that checks off all the marks! Pigmented, check! Glossy, check! Long-wearing, check! Cheap AF, check!
