5 stars out of 5

Smith & Cult Glitterbaby Metallic-Shift Eyeshadow ($24) is a new, stunning glitter cream eyeshadow that recently launched in twelve shades that contains black micronized pigments which give this shadow way more pigmentation and wow factor compared to Stila’s Glitter & Glow Eyeshadow.

Hey, don’t get me wrong I’m still a Stila Glitter & Glow girl for life but Smith & Cult’s formula is pretty darn amazing.

Smith & Cult Glitterbaby Metallic-Shift Eyeshadow is a new $24 glitter cream eyeshadow that’s 0.14 oz in size. Compared to Stila Glitter & Glow Eyeshadow the price is the same but you’re getting a smidge less with Smith & Cult’s formula. That being said you won’t need as much of the Smith & Cult formula as it’s VERY, very pigmented and a little goes a very long way.

Unlike Stila’s formula the glitter that this liquid eyeshadow is suspended is a gel black base which gives this a lot more pigmentation compared to Stila’s formula. Stila’s formula can be hit or miss in the pigment department sometimes building is necessary for the best results. Smith & Cult’s formula is pretty much pigmented on a single stroke and very, very intense in color and sparkle. The glitter is a little more fined than Stila’s version but a lot more sparkly and intense. I think the color and the glitter combined creates very rich, dramatic eye looks! I only tried one shade but I was very impressed with how pigmented this formula was and how a little goes a very, very long way!

Now that formula isn’t for people that dislike cream eyeshadow or those who struggle with the application of such a formula. If you find Stila’s Glitter & Glow Eyeshadow application easy just toss everything you know about that out the window as Smith & Cult’s formula does require a little tiny bit more work. And if you struggle with Stila’s formula you will most definitely struggle with this one. I find that a little goes a long way with this product! You want to dab a little on the middle of your eye and just gently spread it around with your finger tip and finally pat it into place! As you blend the glitter becomes more and more intense! I struggled a little getting down the right amount as if I applied too much things did become a little difficult to blend but just a smidge and I was able to do my entire eye and produce really dramatic results. So, no heavy handed application here! Just a little and you’re good to go!

The wear is very good as well! I had no issues with creasing and the color lasted 12 hours without glittery fall out or fading.

All in all, Smith & Cult Glitterbaby Metallic-Shift Eyeshadow is an incredible eyeshadow! If you’re all about dramatic eye looks this formula will please!

Where to buy

Ulta

Smith & Cult Glitterbaby Metallic-Shift Eyeshadow is a new, permanent range of liquid glitter eyeshadows that are available in 12 shades that are $24 each and 0.14 oz in size. I LOVED this formula! It’s intense, dramatic, glittery, and gorgeous. The formula has a blackened gel base which allows the microfine glitter to really shine through and creates a very pretty sparkly on lids. The formula is a little tricky to blend and I find a little goes a really long way. It wears well without creasing nor does it have any glitter fall out. Overall, a fantastic and dramatic eyeshadow!

Pros

  • Intense, rich, glittery eye looks can be easily created with this formula.
  • Wears well without fallout, fading, or creasing!

Cons

  • A little tricky to blend.

Who

Smith & Cult Glitterbaby Metallic-Shift Eyeshadow is a must for fans of glittery, sparkly eyeshadows!

Ooh la-la. I have been wanting to try these, along with their foundation and everything else that dropped at Ulta awhile ago but was waiting for a review from someone I trust. This must have been what you were wearing in that earlier post I commented on. So pretty! Did you say you were going to be in Cali soon?

    • Isabella Muse

Very glam, soignee, soirée. How do you think it would look with my uniform of AG sweats with LL Bean Katahdin Iron Works lined outer hoodie? No, huh? This IS gorgeous on you. I can imagine you wearing this, dressed up at a swank restaurant with your beau, and wonder if your dear doggin is allowed, if she remains in your purse. Overtired. Forgive me.

  • Celestine

So Pretty. The founder of Smith and Cult is the original founder of Hard Candy!! She released the first “blue” nail polish way, way back then. Anyway, Smith and Cult nail polish’s are amazing. Expensive, but amazing. I can get 10 days wear out of them with minimal chipping.

    • Isabella Muse

LOL 🙂 I dab a little on the back of my hand and I dip a q-tip into it and gently swipe it across my lower lash line! hope this helps!
