5 stars out of 5

I picked up a jar of the new I Dew Care Berry Melting Makeup Remover Balm ($23) which is a new cleansing balm by Memebox. I honestly don’t need another cleansing balm at the moment because I’ve purchased, reviewed, and started quite a few lately. I’m still working my way through Ulta Cleansing Balm as well as Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser and I still have a bit of Physicians Formula The Perfect Matcha 3-in-1 Melting Cleansing Balm left.

Seems like my cleansing balm game is pretty strong 🙂

I tend to take note when Memebox puts out something new especially in the cleansing balm world because the Nooni Snowflake Jelly Cleansing Oil that used to be available on Ulta is amazing (sadly, it’s not sold on the Memebox site only).

That’s why I picked up I Dew Care Berry Melting Makeup Remover Balm as I base pretty much anything Memebox does off that Snowflake Jelly Cleansing Oil!

I Dew Care Berry Melting Makeup Remover Balm is $23 and 2.82 oz in size. If you’re comparing it to say Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm it is a little expensive since Clinique’s version is 3.8 oz and a mere $7 more for that extra ounce they give you. And of course, budget friendly brands like Ponds Cleansing Balm it comes in quite expensive as Pond’s version is bigger at 3.8 oz and cheaper at around $8-$10.

That being said since I really like this formula I don’t mind paying a bit more for it.

It comes with a spatula that allows you to scoop product out without having to touch it. At first I was disappointed since the texture is quite the “sorbet” they promise. When I think of a sorbet-like cleansing balm the first one that pops into my head is Banila Co Clean It Zero followed very closely by Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm. This does not have that gorgeously soft sorbet-like texture of those balms! I resembles an item I actually disliked from the Nooni line called Snowflake Cleanser Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm. This worried me but thankfully the formulas are different especially since the Berry Melting Makeup Remover Balm contains no mineral oil where as SnowFlake Cleansing Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm had it as the first ingredient.

As I said the texture does remind me of Nooni’s with a wax-like consistency versus a soft one. Once I apply it on my face it breaks down very fast and turns oily which I loved. So many cleansing balms promise to turn from balm to oil but none really do. This did! It turns into a cleansing oil-like consistency and broke my makeup up quickly and easily without stinging my eyes or leaving me with cloudy vision! As with all cleansing balms you need to apply it on dry skin, massage, apply a small amount of water to break down the balm and allow it to emulsify and go milky, and rinse! It emulsifies very fast and rinses clean away without leaving any residue behind. It didn’t leave my skin feeling dry nor tight after use. For those curious, yes it does smell faintly of berries! Blackberries to be exact but it isn’t too strong a scent!

It did a great job removing all makeup easily. I really enjoyed I Dew Care Berry Melting Makeup Remover Balm and happily recommend it!

Anyone try it?

I actually picked up the Banila Co Clean it zero cleansing balm when I was by our big CVS here while out shopping the other day and have been loving it. This looks pretty similar to it. I’ve never had luck with getting my makeup off with my cleanser and usually had to double cleanse until now. There were 4 different options and I got the aqua one called Revitalizing. My skin doesn’t feel tight afterward either which I appreciate so I’m super happy!
