5 stars out of 5

Colour Pop Overdramatic Super Shock Cheek ($8) is a new blush shade that launched with the Whatever Eyeshadow Palette for Fall 2019. There are actually six shades and I was able to get all of them in the Call It Whatever Vault they have available for $99. I got a coupon for a few bucks off and I really just loved this collection so I went all wild and crazy and hauled the complete collection.

Let’s take a peek at the Overdramatic below!

Colourpop Over Dramatic Super Shock Cheek comes in limited edition a limited burgundy pot instead of the standard white pots that the blushes typically come in. They also come housed in the same rose-printed box that matches up with the Whatever Eyeshadow Palette. Colourpop Super Shock Cheek Blush released in 2015 and since that time there has been a slew of different shades that have launched. Each shade is 0.15 oz each and $8 per shade.

These remind me in texture and formula to MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadows. They have a soft, clay-like creamy texture much like the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush from a few years ago. Although creamy in texture the formula does have all the characteristics of a powder blush however, with a far more seamless finish and a satin feel on cheeks. I use a stippling brush to apply and blend out the color but you can use your fingers too! For some reason though I feel like I get a more patchier application when I use my fingers so I stick to a brush. I can typically get nine to ten hours of wear from shades which is pretty amazing for cream blushes that are typically swallowed up by skin.

The shade I was a little iffy about. Over Dramatic is described as a mid-tone pinky nude blush and appears a good deal more vibrant in photos online. I thought it was more of a warmer tan peach shade with a matte finish. It looks a little dulling on me initially but once I started playing around with it I started to like how it looked on me. It’s a nice warming blush shade that reminds me of the shade that Judy Hale’s had on in the “mother” reveal in Lace.

All in all, Colourpop Over Dramatic Super Shock Cheek is a beautiful Fall blush shade and well worth picking up if you like warmer, peach blushes!

Where to buy

Colourpop

Colourpop Over Dramatic Super Shock Cheek is a new Fall 2019 shade that’s 0.15 oz in size and $8. This shade is one of six that launched with the new Whatever Eyeshadow Palette. I was a little unsure about this shade but it’s a really pretty warm tan peach with a matte finish that added warmth and nice color to my cheeks. The texture is soft and clay-like with a lightly creamy texture that applies easily and blends out well with a soft bristled brush. It wears for 9 to 10 hours without fading.

Pros

  • Lightweight.
  • Creamy, easy to apply and blend.
  • Long-wearing.
  • Affordable.

Cons

  • Might be too sheer to medium or darker skin tones.

This was on my list, although still undecided. It’ll be more orange on me(good). The Whatever palette looks fairly muted (good.) Right now, it seems that whatever is colorful is bright, and, as you said about blue, not that easy to wear. Whatever looks idiot proof and as if it could be a workhorse. Awaiting your review. It looks beautiful on you! I haven’t ordered this collection yet, but I have my eye on 3 of the blushes and three of the lipglosses, as well as the burgundy mascara. I find that this formula lasts a long time on me as well, and for the price, nothing beats it.

I love peachy blush! Might consider to add this in my collection. Thanks for reviewing! xx
