Lush Boo! Shower Slime Review
Lush Boo! Shower Slime ($18.95) is a new, limited edition exfoliating shower jelly that released with the Lush Halloween 2019 Collection. I remember when Lush Halloween consisted of two or three items one of which was Ghost Shower Gel which I so dearly loved. Halloween has become a major deal for Lush and the collection is a lot larger in recent years. I love Halloween so of course, I look forward to their launches around this time of the year.
Something I do not like is Lush Shower Jelly. I think it’s a wasteful product and most of it ends up down the drain rather than on my body so I was a little wary of trying out Lush Boo! Shower Slime but that bubblegum scent reeled me in! That being said, you have to be careful with Lush. Their idea of how something smells isn’t always my idea of how they should smell. They’ll write up this incredible description about like candy and I buy it and it smells like coconuts. Product names are sometimes misleading as well like Candy Rain smells nothing like candy! So, I wasn’t exactly prepared for Boo! to actually smell like bubblegum!
But I was pleasantly surprised!
Lush Boo! Shower Slime is available in a single size pot of 8.4 oz and it a little goes a fairly long way but if you love it I recommend grabbing a pot or two before it disappears. I was surprised how much I loved this.
First off, it does smell like bubblegum! It’s actually a Lush Candy Fluff on crack fragrance! It smells a lot like Candy Fluff but it’s way sweeter and there’s a lot more pink bubblegum to it. Considering my disappointing with my recent Lush Snowflake Body Lotion I was relieved that the description of this turned out to be true. The scent also lingers quite nicely on my skin after my shower!
I was thinking to myself this stuff would make for a great exfoliating facial scrub! Sort of Dark Angels but in a slime-like formula! The texture reminds me of melting tar! It is indeed a slime! But thankfully, this texture isn’t like Lush Shower Jelly! It’s runny yet thick! It feels like slime but not in a unpleasant, slimy way.
I scoop a bit out massage in on my body in the shower. It lathers up beautifully but doesn’t fall down the drain like the Shower Jelly! It has a very refined graininess to it that gently exfoliates and smooths skin. The grains are apparently crushed Bamboo Stem Extract. It’s quite lovely as it leaves my skin smooth and lightly hydrated as well as nicely scented well after rinsing this off.
All in all, Lush Boo! Shower Slime was a hit for me. I really loved this and I’ll be picking up more before it disappears. But hey Lush! You should do this formula in a facial scrub! I think it would be amazing as a facial scrub!
Lush Boo! Shower Slime is available now for a limited time.
