Earth to Skin Super Fruits Avocado Overnight Mask Review and Comparison To Glow Recipe
I recently purchased the Earth to Skin Super Fruits Avocado Overnight Mask which everyone is comparing to the Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask that I love so much.
I collaborated with Walmart recently again on a few new beauty picks. It was a paid post but the items I featured were purchased by me and the thoughts I shared were my own. One of the items I purchased for that post was the Earth to Skin Super Fruits Avocado Overnight Mask. Because hey, at $6.96 I really did have to review this and see how it compared to the Glow Recipe version at $45 bucks.
Here’s my review and comparison to Glow Recipe’s formula.
I’m actually really comfortable dropping my Glow Recipe repurchase and replacing it with the Earth to Skin Super Fruits Avocado Overnight Mask. Because even though the ingredients in the Glow Recipe formula are a good deal better I still felt both actually performed the same and provided my dry skin with rich moisture overnight as I slept. You might not wish to do that! Here’s why…..!
Earth to Skin Super Fruits Avocado Overnight Mask is 4 oz in size and $6.96 where as Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask is 2.7 oz for $45. Both contain avocado which hydrates skin and also, acts as a PHA aka Polyhydroxy Acid which are supposed to be as effective as AHAs with less sensitizing. You’ll find that you get better results from Glow Recipe’s formula as an AHA than you will with the Earth to Skin one. In my experience, Glow to Recipe’s formula had two functions! It’ll exfoliate your skin and it’ll moisturize your skin. Where as the Earth to Skin formula will provide moisture but there are likely no exfoliating benefits simply because avocado is the 11th ingredient in the formula where as Glow Recipe’s version has it as the first ingredient plus it includes additional three forms other forms of avocado including avocado oil.
A lot of what Earth To Skin includes in there formula is moisturizing but won’t act as an AHA. There’s also a lot of binding agents to give it that thick, creamy texture. Interestingly enough Shea Butter is before avocado here but also, lower on the list of ingredients. Glycerin and water are what gives this a moisturizing base.
I think both formulas are very thick and creamy. They also both absorb very easily into my skin. Earth to Skin’s formula has a light, artificial fragrance that smells green and I guess avocado-like.
Ok, so there’s good news and bad news as you can see.
I do think both worked great for me though and I didn’t feel like there was any major difference between the two when using these as an overnight sleeping mask. Both formulas provided very rich moisture and I woke up with smoother, softer skin. You might not be getting the exfoliating benefits from Earth to Skin’s formula but I wouldn’t say that was a big issue for me because I still felt like my skin was super smooth and very well hydrated when using this. That in fact, makes it a rather good replacement for me and I’m saving quite a good deal of money. However, some folks might feel like the Glow Recipe formula is a good deal better due the to amount of “better” ingredients.
For me, I think Earth to Skin Super Fruits Avocado Overnight Mask makes for a nice replacement. I can see myself purchasing this again in the future instead of the Glow Recipe version. Both provide great moisture and that’s exactly what my dry skin needs.
Earth to Skin Super Fruits Avocado Overnight Mask is available now at Walmart.
Have you tried it?
Where to buy
Earth to Skin Super Fruits Avocado Overnight Mask is a 4 oz mask that’s just under $7 in price making it a way cheaper version than that of Glow Recipe’s formula which it attempts to dupe. Depending how you feel about “wholesome” ingredients you might be very happy to the Earth to Skin formula. I found the formula was thick, creamy, easy to absorb, and very hydrating. However, it contains very little avocado compared to the Glow Recipe formula which has it as the first ingredient along with three other forms of it in the formula. In Glow Recipe’s formula you’ll find avocado not only hydrates but acts to exfoliate as well where as the Earth to Skin’s formula is more about moisture. I did feel both really excelled at providing moisturizing benefits and I’m comfortable replacing my Glow Recipe formula with the Earth to Skin one!
