3 stars out of 5

It Cosmetics It Girl Vol. 3 Your Life-Changing Eye, Cheek & Brow Palette ($42) is a limited edition Holiday 2019 face and eye palette that recently launched. I’m actually not much of an all-in-one palette kind of girl. I love eyeshadow palettes, I love blush palettes, but I don’t really like when you mix things together. I don’t find it appealing to have blush and eyeshadow and highlighter slung all into one palette. I suspect this has to do with the fact I’m also the type of person that can’t have her veggies touching her meat or her meat touching her salad, etc…! When I was growing up my dad would tell me, “It all ends up in the same place! Do you think your tummy has separate compartments for each piece of good you eat?” Dad, I don’t care where it ends up I just don’t want it touching when it’s on my plate.

Same goes for makeup! I travel a lot and having an all-one-palette is appealing and makes traveling much lighter but given the choice I’d choose to buy a blush, highlighter, and eyeshadow palette all separate versus together. But the fact of the matter is that I don’t hesitate with these things when it comes to It Cosmetics as they always give really, really good palette. They are one brands that taught me how love matte eyeshadow!

So, I forgive the It Cosmetics It Girl Vol. 3 Your Life-Changing Eye, Cheek & Brow Palette for having all the makeup in one spot.

It Cosmetics It Girl Vol. 3 Your Life-Changing Eye, Cheek & Brow Palette is $42 and includes six Naturally Pretty Eyeshadows that are 0.03 oz each, a Hello Light Powder that’s 0.15 oz, a Brow Power Powder that’s 0.048 oz, a Bye Bye Pores Boush that’s 0.23 oz, and a Bye Bye Pores Bronzer that’s 0.11 oz. It’s $42 which makes it an overall, excellent deal as there’s a good deal of makeup in this palette. The palette arrives in very pretty rose gold compact with a pink face plate featuring a starburst design. It’s presented in very pretty packaging making it very appealing visually for makeup lovers who love good packaging.

Typically I’d rave a palette like this because It Cosmetics normally does a very good job with these palettes but this particular palette had some lows and some highs this time around. One of the highlights of the palette was the pretty golden peach blush. This blush is called Sweet Cheeks and I’ve reviewed it before but oddly enough the palette version is a lot less shimmery than the individual pan. I actually liked it more than the larger size I have! It’s more refined, less sparkly, and the color seems deeper. It’s a gorgeous shade with a soft, silky formula that wasn’t powdery and had a smooth, flawless finish on my skin with excellent pigment.

Both the Bye Bye Pores Bronzer in Beach and Hello Light Powder in Radiance had firm yet silky formulas that applied easily and blended well. I’m actually wearing Beach on my eyes as an eyeshadow in my look for this review. They were both formulated well.

Another item that’s great is the Brow Power. I mentioned that lately I noticed my brows need a little filling. I know right? Considering my crazy bushy brows this seems impossible but true. Lately I noticed small areas that need filling due to over plucking. One of my fav items to use to fill these areas is typically Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel from Benefit but It Cosmetics always does surprise with Brow Power. It’s a Universal Taupe shade that you think wouldn’t work but actually does a brilliant job matching the extra shade of my dark brows perfectly. It’s like magic.

The thing that disappointed me here was the eyeshadows. They just weren’t my color scheme and the shimmers lacked pigment. The shades are a bit too cool for me with lighter and smokier taupes that looked chalky on my eyes. These just didn’t perform well for me. I felt like I had to bring in deeper shades to make them work and the shimmer shades really lacked pigment. If you’re going for a really, really soft look they might be appealing but personally, I disliked them. This was sad and disappointing because the eyeshadow is a major key part of the palette.

It Cosmetics It Girl Vol. 3 Your Life-Changing Eye, Cheek & Brow Palette Swatches (Magic, Delight, Inspire, Glowing, Gleam, Shine)

It Cosmetics It Girl Vol. 3 Your Life-Changing Eye, Cheek & Brow Palette has some highs and some lows but I don’t know if I could recommend a purchase with the biggest low being the eyeshadows that really lacked pigment and depth. This is such an important part of the palette and without the eyeshadow you only have a face palette which sort of sucks. Warmer, deeper shades would have been much more welcome for me. If you do want something with more dept and better pigment the original It Cosmetics IT Girl Palette at qvc.com is not only cheaper but has a lot more pigmentation!

It Cosmetics It Girl Vol. 3 Your Life-Changing Eye, Cheek & Brow Palette is available now for those interested.

Where to buy

It Cosmetics Ulta

It Cosmetics It Girl Vol. 3 Your Life-Changing Eye, Cheek & Brow Palette is a limited edition Holiday 2019 palette that’s $42 and includes six eyeshadows, one brow powder, one blush, one highlighter, and one bronzer. The palette comes in a lovely rose gold compact with a generously sized mirror inside. I’m typically fairly happy with It Cosmetics Palettes but this one wasn’t really doing it for me. The eyeshadows, which are a key part of the palette, really lacked pigment and the color scheme looked chalky on my light medium skin tone. The highlighter of the palette for me was the blush which I already own as in an individual pan but this shade seemed a lot sparkly than the full-size. The highlighter, brow powder, and bronzer all performed wonderfully! I felt badly though about the eyeshadows which are a focus piece of the palette and ruined things for me a bit.

Pros

  • Excellent blush.
  • Beautiful packaging.
  • Nice way to travel with a lot of options.

Cons

  • Eyeshadows were sheerer and a bit chalky.

Who

It Cosmetics It Girl Vol. 3 Your Life-Changing Eye, Cheek & Brow Palette might be a nice pick for you if you like more sheerer, natural shades of eyeshadow.

I love a lot of the IT cosmetics line (both makeup and skincare), but I have never been a fan of their eyeshadows. I’ve got three of their big Naturally Pretty palettes I can’t bring myself to declutter, but I NEVER use them.

I was interested in the QVC one (but not really for this one). Maybe I’ll get the QVC after all.
