I’m Here Lifting You Up and Bringing the Beauty Today

Happy Monday party people!

As I said earlier today I’m here trying to lift up spirits and bring a little beauty into your day. I know we got way serious and real last week and things were tough and still are but I truly believe better days are ahead. I have all the hope in my heart that protests today will help mold a new future for the world and the people that live in it. I protested Saturday and it was very uneventful (in a positive way). It made me realize I watch way too much scary news. There were a few hundred people there, everyone was really respectable about distance, police were there but no fights broke out, it all just went smoothly with plenty of respect on all sides.

So, I’m here for you. Lifting you up, telling you you’re great, believing in you, and reminding you you’re a damn fine person.

I’m also here for your beauty needs. Because that is what brought us all together to begin with.

Here’s your daily dose of it right here.

1. Is your Clarisonic Honeymoon over? It happens (it happened to me). Today, I urge you to get down under the sink where you likely stored that bad boy and get it out. Now grab yourself a good foaming cleanser and start using it today. You can thank me later when you skin starts glowing again.

2. NARS Orgasm Haters gather together! You know it’s NARS Orgasm season when they start re-packaging that sucker and re-releasing it all over the damn place. I’m actually a lover. It’s my personal blush shade of choice. I know there are haters out there though. I get it. To glow-y? To shimmery? It’s ok. I got you guys. Some of you likely having that sucker laying in a drawer rotting away. My recommendation if you hate it, try it again! Try these tricks:

  • Try getting a soft tissue and rubbing it across the entire surface of the blush. This sometimes picks up excess shimmer and gives the blush a more refined finish without the shimmer.
  • If you have a lightweight fiber brush try using it to apply Orgasm. I always feel like the fiber brush picks up a lot less color and gives cheeks a very pretty, natural glow without being overwhelming.
  • Apply it wet! Swipe your brush in your blush and hold it 12-15 inches away. Mist it once with a facial spray (don’t saturate it) and gently tap it on your cheeks! BOOM! Instant dewy golden peach blush.

3. I fell in love with Jonny Lee Miller before you when he was in Doctor Who for a flash of a second in 1982. That’s a real thing, go look it up my fellow Whovians. Actually, our love affair began when he shouted, “HACK THE PLANET! HACK THE PLANET!” in his really crappy American accent. So, in his honor let’s chat makeup hacks. Get that pot of gel eyeliner out of your stash, grab your favorite pencil eyeliner, and let’s start getting those eyes fancy because face masks are a thing and the eyeshadow index is coming! Here’s what you do! Unscrew your gel liner, take your pencil liner and dip it into your gel liner, smooth it back and fourth to get a fine layer of the gel onto the pencil, and line your waterline. You’ll find this nifty trick really creates a bold waterline not to mention it lasts longer than using a pencil alone!

4. Face masks are not hitting right at all for us lipgloss lovers. I do so love a shiny, glossy lip look for Summer but that’s impossible right now. So, what I’m going to do is give us all permission to love liquid lipstick again (that is if you ever hated them). I hate long-wearing liquid lipstick with a passion but right now if you absolutely must wear lipstick it’s the only way to go. How about all us haters haul out the liquid lipsticks we do love and start wearing ’em! I know I’m a pretty big fan of the Balm’s and I have a really nice red in that formula so I’ll be wearing that.

5. I admit I did a small amount of damage at the Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale but I also, decided to de-stash some of my older fragrance mists. Anal moment here but I organize my fragrance mists by season. I totally urge you to do the same! Sort your scents and get those Summer ones out and ready to wear!

And that’s it. A little daily dose of beauty for you right here.

I hope you have a wonderful day.

Be nice to yourself today. Remember you’re beautiful and strong.

And as always, be nice to others.

1, 2, and 3. Hope I know where the Clarisonic charger is. I’ve been married to a konjac sponge for 3-4 years, as my skin was so irritable. Definitely will retry Orgasm, as there must be some reason I kept it. Nobody says how awful it looks, so maybe I’m just being too critical. Perfect the gel liner game. I still haven’t tried it on a pencil, and I need to perfect the wing stamp thingy. I got that big box of CP gel liners and really should make a dent in them. Great ideas. Glad you went to a protest and everyone was distanced and orderly. I worry about the health impact on the folks who are in crowds.

I sort of went with a konjac and a rubber sponge for a year too because clarisonic seems a pain at times but it def does do a great job of cleansing! Do it! Orgasm is one of those things people hate but later give a second chance to nad love. I do too which is why I was scared getting out there but it was really oddly organized and orderly. I expect something crazy to happen but it was super uneventful but it felt great and left a positive feeling with everyone I think!

Think I’ll get some sensitive brush heads, when they go on sale at Ulta. I have harsh+. Funny how skin changes. It was always indestructible until~65, then it went all to hell with reactions, allergies, and full blown sensitivity. The other night my facial skin went wild when I added bleach to the laundry. Wtf?

Glad to hear your protest experience was peaceful!
I can get lazy with my skincare, but I have always used my Clarisonic daily since it debuted. My skin just doesn’t feel clean unless I use it.
Too much shimmer or glitter isn’t good at my mature age, but I haven’t felt uncomfortable about Orgasm blush. I can only see the shimmer in my 10x mirror & it’s still not much. There’s not a lot of love for the balm, but it actually makes my medium mauve colored lips look like a beautiful youthful natural pink, so I’ve got a tube stashed everywhere.
Thanks for the eyeliner hack! I’ve got a bunch that I haven’t used in a while & if they haven’t dried out yet, I will try your method.

I dunno what I was expecting! It’s such a shame I felt scared because the news beat into me I was going to die or something if I got out there to protest. I sometimes have a honeymoon period with it where I’ll use it for six months or even a year and suddenly just stop. But I def see a vast improvement when I do use it! I never notice the shimmer in Orgasm either! But so many people rant at me how shimmery it is. Maybe we’re in the minority loving it 😀 but I adore the shade! Go for it! Let me know how it goes with the eyeliner! P.S. How ya doing over there? Hope all is well 🙂 <3!

Great eyeliner tip! I have pots of Bobbi Brown eyeliner but rarely take the time to use the it, pencil liner is so much faster, I love this hack! Nars Orgasm blush will always be in my bag. The only palette I hated was the Orgasm metallic cream one they did.

Glad protesting was peaceful. And thank you for all you do to keep us uplifted

Thank you Muse. I know it’s tough. Everyone is tired of this crazy world! It is hard hard to stay positive when we don’t feel like it. I follow you for the distraction and the beauty stuff. And may I say, I’ve never seen it, “nice butt”. Lol

    • Isabella Muse

You’re so welcome <3! Try to stay positive Phyllis! Thinks will get better. We will be better. The world will heal 🙂 I'm confident it'll all be ok! haha well, if you haven't heard it today, nice butt!

  • Traci

I’ve recently discovered Rimmel Provocalips and I think it’s a game changer. The liquid lipstick is a bit drying, but the balm you put over it is not, and the balm keeps your lips feeling (and looking) normal without any transfer and you can reapply the balm throughout the day for a pick me up. It’s kind of the best of both worlds. Plus they are super long lasting–I have to actually take pains to remove the lip color from my lips at the end of the day.

    • Isabella Muse

I never tried those! I’ll pick up a shade thanks for the rec Traci!

  • Jane

You’ll never get me on the Nars Orgasm team, Muse, never! It doesn’t even exist in this house.

LOL! COME ON! Jump on board! We have so much fun over here on the dark side with our golden peach blush!
