Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base is a new hydrating under eye base that acts to prep and prime the delicate skin under the eyes for concealer. As a huge fan of Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base I knew that picking up the Vitamin Enriched Eye Base was a no brainer purchase for me.

I’ve been using the face base for years now and absolutely adore it. I was very happy to see them convert this formula into an eye base and I think they really knocked it out of the park with this one but buyer beware! I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin or eyes. It does have the same light citrus-y scent as the Face Base and I think that might be irritating to some users. I had no issues with it but I thought I’d give my sensitive users a heads up!

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base arrives in a 0.5 oz glass jar with a solid black top. It basically mimics the exact packaging as the face base but on a smaller scale. I have to admit the price and size totally make me cry a little inside. The original Face Base is $62 and 1.7 oz. This is 0.5 oz and $54. Ouch! There isn’t anything major involved with the formula to really warrant that price tag. I’d say it’s worth about $35 maybe $40 but the $54 hurts my feelings. Would I buy it again at that price? Sadly, yes I would because I think it’s a little miracle worker for me but I do wish it was a bit cheaper.

This is an emollient formula that contains hydrating fillers like Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate. It also includes squalane, shea, and even vitamin C but all of those are a little lower on the list of ingredients. I don’t think this formula is going to change the way your eyes look over long-term use. It will, however, prep and prime the eye area for smoother concealer coverage and also acts to provide long-term moisture as well as a blurring effect.

I swear this stuff is some kind of miracle OR I’m imagining things. I typically apply all my skincare including eye cream before I head to the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. Before doing my hair I proceed to apply the Vitamin Enriched Face Base on my face and follow up with the Vitamin Enriched Eye Base. I do this to allow both to set as I take care of my hair. The Vitamin Enriched Eye Base is creamy yet thin and provides instant hydration. It’s quite emollient without being sticky or tacky and it absorbs instantly leaving behind a slightly dewy surface. I wouldn’t recommend something like this for anyone who is oily but for those of us with finer lines and drier skin it’s perfect. I swear that my finer lines look instantly better and somehow, someway my puffiness even appears a little less visible after applying this. It has a cool, refreshing feel and after a few seconds of application it sets and the dewiness disappears leaving a smooth, well hydrated surface for my concealer to adhere to. I typically apply a drop of my eye serum followed by my eye cream in the morning but I still use this on top of that for added moisture. It eases the way for concealer and allows to smooth, eve blending not to mention it prevents some of my drier concealers from settling into my finer lines and extends to wear of my concealer plus when I set with powder the area looks more blurred and smoother! One thing to note is this isn’t an eyeshadow primer. I read poor reviews where people said this was horrible because it didn’t extend the wear of their eyeshadow. I guess the “eye base” in the name confused them! It’s meant for under eye use only not on your lids.

I can see this becoming a lifelong companion for me. If you’re older with finer lines or you just experience bad dryness under your eyes that give your concealer a dry, cracked appearance I’d say pick up a jar of Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base! This stuff is brilliant for creating that smooth, well hydrated look under eyes.

Love it!

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base is a new lightweight, creamy under eye base meant to be used under the eye area to prep for concealer. This is a light, creamy formula that has the same citrus-y scent as the Vitamin Enriched Face Base. It absorbs very easily under my eyes and feels emollient without being tacky or sticky. Initially it sets to a dewy finish but quickly dries down and leaves a smooth, well hydrated area for concealer to adhere to. It really smoothed the way for my concealer and even allowed my driest concealers to apply with ease while preventing them from creasing or caking into my finer lines. I felt it kept my concealer fresher and more long-wearing when used under it. I also felt there was some short term visible results as my finer lines look blurred and my puffiness seems to ease after application. Aside from hydration this isn’t a treatment eye cream so you aren’t going to experience long term benefits from use but you will however, see results when using it along with your favorite concealer!
