I Woke Up This Morning and Decided I Needed New Spring 2021 Candles

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I put myself on a candle ban and I’ve pretty good about it! I mean, I totally missed Candle Day this year and I didn’t haul any Holiday 2021 Candles plus I skipped over the Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale completely. At this point I’m sort of developing the shakes and my teeth are starting to rattle in my head as I struggle not to haul Spring 2021 candles.

This ban is not going to last because Homeworx Spring 2021 launched at Ulta.com with free shipping at $35 (if you buy the sale candles which are 2 for $40 you automatically get free shipping). How can I resist? And they have these new smaller 3 Wicks available as well for $15 (14 oz which are still pretty huge!). One of those new smaller guys is the new Tropical Rum Punch! It’s sadly not available yet (it says out of stock but it simply never came into stock yet). It sounds yummy!

There are a few different Spring 2021 picks like Citrus Mojito! Yes, I’ll take one! Coastal Water Lily and Garden Blooms are two others!

Do I need more candles?

Probably not but the 2 for $40 deal is tempting!

What’s your latest candle haul?

Do you have an Ikea around you? Ben Gorham (of Byredo) did a line of candles with them that are gorgeous to look at and some are really nice to smell. I picked up Basil &B Mint and Sandalwood & Vanilla. They are on their website but I don’t know if they ship. They are the first candles I’ve bought in forever!

I don’t have more candles than I need, but I already bought spring and summer candles and have enough candles to last through August. So, I won’t buy any more candles until fall launches in July. I’ve only been burning one scented candle at a time, usually 1-2 per month, and the rest is wax melt stuff. The reason I don’t burn more candles is I don’t like cleaning the vessels out to recycle them. Yankee Candle partnered with Terracycle and if you bring in candle jars and lids to the store, any amount, to recycle they’ll give you a 50% off one full price item including candles. Otherwise, I just finished Nest Apricot Tea and have started Nest Cedar Leaf & Lavender.

I actually reuse them after they are empty. I re-purpose them to store q-tips, cotton swabs, and even small items like lipsticks! The jars are so beautiful it’s a shame to throw them out not to mention wasteful!

After so many years of candle burning there’s only so many q-tip, cotton ball, brush, and pen holders you need, haha. I make sure to recycle all of them. If a candle comes in a vessel that isn’t recyclable I won’t buy it. I wish BBW would partner with Terracycle, because I have so many of their metal lids I feel too guilty to throw out.

LOL true true! But I actually just keep reusing them for a bunch of different things. I have like fifty in my pantry, office closet, and bathroom that I reused. I hold paperclips in them, q tips, cotton balls, nail clippers, all sorts of crap 😀 I agree though would be nice if it was less wasteful!

Shows I don’t read the emails, duh. Thanks for the tip in Terracycle @ YC. I usually melt the last dribs and drabs on the stove and layer them in an old jar, with a wick from Michael’s. But I have deep sixed a couple since fall. Prob should use the Homeworx for the wax ‘sand garden’ and take back the YC jars. Great tip. Thanks.
