My Online Crush Made Me Pull Out the Patrick Ta Fan But He Probably Couldn’t Sway Me To Use the $149 for the Gucci Beaute� Des Yeux Floral Eyeshadow Palette

Is this what being an adult feels like? Because I saw the Gucci Beaute� Des Yeux Floral Eyeshadow Palette pop up on my feed today and I was like nope and nope. I won’t pay $149 for it. I already did a number on my wallet with the Hourglass Curator Single Eyeshadows and I refuse to be suckered into another luxurious eyeshadow palette purchase. But wait…weakness set in…

What did I just do?

I purchased it.

In a very weak moment, I popped it into my cart and I brought it. And my only excuse was, “I need to review it for the blog!” After uttering that under my breath I realized I DON’T use a lot of my prettier makeup pieces. I swear my Jill Stuart is rotting away in pretty displays on my vanity along with my Dior, Givenchy, and Guerlain. I have the worst habit of stashing away all my good makeup and saying, “I’ll use this for a special occasion!” and TONS of special occasions come and go and my luxury makeup is still sitting lonely and sad on my vanity. I kicked and screamed about purchasing a Christian Louboutin Abracadabra La Palette Eyeshadow Palette because it didn’t come with a case but of course, I did it but never used the damn thing.

Do you remember a few months ago I finally pulled out the damn Patrick Ta fan? How long have I had that thing stashed away in my beauty closet? I literally purchased it because I wanted to use it solely in a display on my vanity but I kept putting off displaying it because it was too pretty. It took my online crush waving it around in a Tiktok video to finally goad me into removing it from the box to finally display it. I sincerely doubt he’d be as successful getting me to use the Gucci Beaute� Des Yeux Floral Eyeshadow Palette. Well, maybe he could. It’s up for debate.

I know this damn palette is going to end up stashed away in a drawer someplace because it’s too pretty to use. Into the beauty vault, it goes!

Why am I like this?

Oh well!

The life and times of a makeup addict will become a book one day and I’ll be the one penning it.

I swear the weirdest feeling in the world is you and Amy just popping up randomly in my comments on Tiktok with “HAAAAAAAAA WE KNOW YOU MUSEY!           Guilty as charged LOL! That’s how we met. He did that glazed donut tiktok and I made some demented comment about HA and she proceeded to comment back, “I KNOW YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FOLLOW YOU FOR YEARS!” I proceeded to die a little in embarrassment but after that, we just make dumb-ass jokes about HA under all his tiktoks now. Who knew HA would get that much airplay on his account!? Love you back! You should comment when you see us being fools. She doesn’t follow Dante I don’t think but she does follow Doug. I don’t think the fan tiktok is even up anymore, I think it was pulled down which blows because it was prob my favorite.

            Hehehe! Remember the cross pollinating post you did several years ago about powders and creams in the same palette? That reminds me of us on Tiktok. Cross pollinating of tiktok and makeup! I don’t follow Doug just Dante but the algo somehow knows we know each other because I always see the HA comments haha!

      I clicked on the link and it is $198.43 CAD, but does not ship to Canada. Hopefully Holt Renfrew will have it at its real price.

          Toronto has a Saks store in Bay Queen Street.

          Could be a licensing thing, a warehouse thing, or a need for Bilingual packaging? Don�t think any US stores will ship cosmetics to Canada.

            Ah, now it makes more sense�. But so full of inconsistencies. They have to ship it to Saks�.
            And the indies/brands seem to ship to Canada at a higher cost. UK stores MUST ship to Canada�since they ship to US and Canada is a commonwealth country. Curiouser and curiouser.

    This is why I keep coming back everyday. I feel like I have found my tribe. Lol. I have a beautiful Huda palette that I got in February and it is still sealed in my makeup drawer. I like nude palettes and have to restrain myself constantly. Want a Pat Mcgrath palette but I am staying away for now. Have a great day!

    I always get around to using whatever, if only a bit. Gorgeous surface treatment is gawked at for a couple of months until I feel guilty and use. Finally used the Beautylish Hachiko (loyal dog) brush. But am waiting til I dare go back to the Asian marketplace (uh, pandemic. No Asian insult, been to only 2 stores since the beg.) to get a wooden display stand for the Year of the Rat brush. Idk why tf I would use it more/at all, if it had an official display stand. Plus, I don�t have a vanity, bwah ha ha ha. Makeup moves make no sense, so no worries. Can you name a reader for you or Christine who does not have vast quantities? Thought not.

    So funny. I actually make it a point to use all of my makeup, pretty or not. It’ll just be a waste of my money if I didn’t. I will admit, I have a hard time using my Clinique Zodiac highlighter because it’s too cute, but in my defense, it’s also way too dark and warm for me to use both as a highlighter or an eyeshadow. So it just sits there being pretty. LOL!

    Other than that, it all goes on my face sooner or later. Use it, Muse, just take that first step!

      I’ve been WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY more daring lately and just open stuff and even toss on boxes. I have so much stuff I have to stop hoarding! I didn’t use mine either lol! My excuse wasn’t too dark, just that it was too cute sorry not sorry hehe!

    Well, I purchased a huge haul of Dolce Gabbana from Harrod’s for the same reason (also because I was afraid they were going to go under.) Joke’s on me though because their changing whatever company manages them means they likely will have more of a worldwide presence for sales.
    Good news in the end, I guess.
    I love my Hourglass Curator palette- I bought the shades that are in the Iced Steel palette. Yet is the best navy I have ever owned; it’s so smooth! And these shades stay gray on me instead of turning green or blue.
    Maybe I love it most of all because it was free- I used all of my Ulta points to get it.

    I�ve got Ulta points now so I�m thinking of getting the Hourglass shadows. But I�ve bought so much ColourPop recently that I have a stack of quads (I bought the Astrology ones) that I haven�t tried yet so I don�t want to buy more shadows when I have some I haven�t even tried yet!! CP needs to slow down, ugh.
