5 stars out of 5

Flower Beauty Plump Up Gloss Stick ($11.99) is a new shiny glossy balm that plumps lips with hyaluronic acid with moisture packed blend of castor oil and vitamin E to hydrate. Everyone is pretty hyped about the new Tower28 JuiceBalm Vegan Tinted Lip Balm but what you really need to get your hands on are these Flower Beauty Plump Up Gloss Sticks!

I’m in love.

Flower Beauty Plump Up Gloss Stick has the look and feel of Tarte’s Maracuja Juicy Lip Plumping Gloss with the slick clickable pen applicator however, the size and price are considerably different as well as the formula. These weigh in at 0.05 oz for nearly $12 each (for reference Tarte’s are $24 at 0.095 oz). I’m a little disappointed at how little you get but since the formula is amazing I’m willing to overlook that. As a fan of Tarte’s formula, I was eager to compare the two and can honestly say that I actually like Flower Beauty’s version more.

Flower Beauty Plump Up Gloss Stick Swatches (Shade: Toasty)

They call this a gloss balm hybrid but I’d probably just call it a shiny lipstick. The formula is light, slick, and glides onto lips like melted butter. I detected no flavor of any kind nor any scent. It does say it has a sweet vanilla flavor but I didn’t taste anything at all. I expected some sort of strong peppermint or cinnamon flavor as that seems the norm with plumping formulas. That being said, I didn’t experience any plumping, fullness, or volume after application. I did, however, get a ton of shine! LOVE the shine! I happen to adore glossy, shiny lips and this gave me great shine! It also, provided a very nice bit of color. I got the shade Toasty and it was pretty nude on me.

The texture feels quite hydrating on my lips during the wear and I had no issues with it migrating or moving around my lipline. The wear time is around two hours before it disappears making it a bit of a shorter wear time. During the wear I didn’t feel like I had anything at all on my lips. It was super lightweight and provided a nice bit of moisture.

Flower Beauty Plump Up Gloss Stick gets a yay from me. It has the moisture of a balm and the feel of a lightweight shiny lipstick! Adore this formula and eager to pick up a few more shades.

Where to buy

Ulta

Flower Beauty Plump Up Gloss Stick is a new glossy lipstick housed in a clickable pen applicator. This formula is available in six shades for $11.99 each and 0.05 oz in size. This is a fragrance and flavor-free formula that contains vitamin E, Castor Oil, and hyaluronic acid to smooth, hydrate, and plump lips. As per the marketing material it says this has a sweet vanilla flavor but I noticed absolutely no scent nor flavor. It has a smooth glide on lips and applies flawlessly leaving behind nice color, plenty of shine, and lightweight moisture. It wore for a two hours before fading away but during that wear it didn’t move or migrate around my lips and provided a nice, light bit of moisture.

Pros

  • Lightweight.
  • Super shiny.
  • Gorgeous color.
  • Provided light moisture.

Cons

  • Too few shades.
  • A bit expensive.
