The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Eye Serum is a new eye serum containing multiple peptides that helps reduce the appearance of crow¿s feet, puffiness, dark circles, and eye bags. I love NIOD Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate which got me curious enough to purchase a bottle of this Multi-Peptide Eye Serum to see how the two compare. NIOD’s formula isn’t exactly cheap ($70) nor large in size, so I hope the two sisters turn into twins even if they contain different ingredients. That being said, it seems that it might be more of a dupe of Hylamide SubQ Eyes which has been discontinued! According to the Ordinary that formula target puffiness, dark circles, and multiple signs of aging around the eyes but one key difference between the two formulations is that Multi-Peptide Eye Serum includes caffeine which further targets the appearance of puffiness and dark circles.

Speaking of cheap, The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Eye Serum is probably one of the more expensive products I’ve seen from the Ordinary at $25 for 0.5 oz! Ouch! Caffeine 5% + EGCG Depuffing Eye Serum is only $9! What the hell? Regardless, for eye serum, $25 is still a fairly decent price but still a little unexpected for the Ordinary! But as per the Ordinary’s Instagram this is their reason for the higher price:

“This formula comes at a higher price point than many of our other products due to the high concentration of actives required to address multiple eye area concerns at once. However, a little goes a long way. If you’re looking to target puffiness and dark circles specifically, you may wish to explore our Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG.”

When it comes to serum I don’t expect moisturizing benefits. Most treat certain eye issues like fine lines, darkness, or dark circles but rarely act to hydrate. I expect pretty much the same results from Multi-Peptide Eye Serum! No moisture but will likely treat smaller, pesky eye issues. I’m just hoping this formula isn’t as drying as Caffeine 5% + EGCG Depuffing Eye Serum.

The Ordinary is sadly lacking in eye products which makes me quite excited to try it. This is a waster-based formula Niacinamide (great for darkness), Caffeine (great for puffiness), Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 (also, great for puffiness), Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 (treats finer lines), and Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate (also, aids with finer lines).

I’m curious about this formula and did purchase it from Ulta. I’ll share my thoughts after a few weeks of use.
