Lush Mario Shower Gel Review
Lush Mario Shower Gel is one of two, limited edition shower gels that Lush Cosmetics released in collaboration with the The Super Mario Bros. Movie. I already reviewed the Luigi Shower Gel from this collection in a prior post and thought for sure Mario would be my favorite of the two but Luigi is def a better option for me.
Let’s find out why.
Ok, so, I was positive these shower gels were going to be something special but sadly, neither one really wowed me (I will say the Princess Peach Body Spray did!). If I had to choose between the two I’d go with Luigi as he smells the nicest. Mario, well, just didn’t really do it for me at all.
I thought for sure I’d love this as it contains tart, fresh pomegranate juice along with Persian lime oil. According to Lush this creates a “fruity cola fragrance”. I must be missing the point because all the reviews I’ve seen say it smells like cola but I just smell the weirdest lime note from it. Lush REALLY knows how to do lovely lime fragrances but this one just isn’t it. It contains black pepper which maybe could be what isn’t working in the blend? Because pom and lime smell great together. Two two notes are tart with slight sweetness but the black pepper might be what comes in and clashes with those notes. It almost smells like radishes!?!? I just didn’t like it at all.
Truly save your money on both of these! They just weren’t worth the price! I’m sad because as a complete geek for the game I loved the idea of this collection but sadly, it just wasn’t doing it for me!
