Kayali The Wedding Silk Santal 36 Perfume Will Piss Me Off If…

Kayali Fragrance Silk Santal 36 is a new wedding fragrance that has made its Instagram debut this week! This is apparently a new perfume from Kayali and it appears as if there may be a possible cologne for men launching with Silk Santal 36 as the brand’s Instagram says, “2 is better than 1” while a black bottle is hidden by the new the Wedding Fragrance in the photo posted.

Let me just say I’ve been using Kayali Fragrances since day one. I remember when they had a bit of a stir in perfume forums about the price and how they weren’t a niche brand and were too costly because of that. I still indulged in all four scents when they originally and loved what I indulged in! Fast forward nearly five years later and they are having an incredible viral moment across social media particularly Tiktok. And I love that for them! I think their fragrances are amazing.

What I don’t love is the fact that the reviews on Tiktok just aren’t quite it lately. I’ve seen people really overhype these fragrances to the max. It was particularly bad when Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato 33 launched. Everyone was reviewing this as the most delicious cotton candy marshmallow perfume. It is not that at all. It was a huge let down in the gourmand department in my humble opinion but reviewers were just really pushing it hard as a gourmand and most of the people doing so had received PR. I’m not saying everyone is dishonest. I think scent is a very personal thing and my nose isn’t always going to smell what yours does. I just really get frustrated by the overhype and the “OH MY GOD YOU NEED THIS!” era we’ve entered. I’m seeing a lot of it on perfume-Tok not only with Kayali but with a lot of different brands. If The Wedding IS in fact a new perfume (I’ll get into that more in a bit) I really hope we aren’t going to get a round of “OH MY GOD YOU GUYS YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS!” only to get it and be grossly disappointed.

I’d like to also say, that Kayali has had a steady round of fragrance launches lately and I’m curious if the Wedding is in fact a “brand new scent”. They’ve made no mention of the notes as of yet and are just displaying a bottle. My question was, could this be a “Wedding Edition” of Déjà Vu White Flower 57. I’m was praying for a brand new scent and was thinking this is a newly packaged Déjà Vu White Flower 57 and in that case I was gonna to be a bit pissed. As I said above they have a reel on IG showing the bottle spinning and just behind it is another black bottle. Obviously the white one to represent the bride (wedding dress) and the black the groom (tuxedo). But remember they already have a black bottle in their main collection which is Elixir. I own Elixir and I feel like it could be unisex. So, if they were re-promoting it might be to pair with Elixir.

Update: We have official news about both of the new fragrances!

Kayali The Wedding Silk Santal for Her
This joyful fragrance opens with Sparkling Champagne and silky White Freesia, while Pink Praline, Lush Nectarine dominates the heart of
this romantic fragrance. The sweetness of Sugared Musk and the creamy Sandalwood perfectly round out this dazzling scent as a toast to
the celebration of love.

The Vibe: Bright, Uplifting, Elegant
Fragrance Family: Warm Floral
Key Notes: Sparkling Champagne, White Freesia, Sandalwood

Kayali Wedding Velvet Santal for Him
This fragrance captivates you with a magnetic blend of gentle Jasmine and White Musk, accompanied by the velvety warmth of
Sandalwood, Cedarwood and Benzoin. The creamy and woody base is reminiscent of a lingering embrace, rounding out this sublime scent
as a testimony to unconditional love.

The Vibe: Warm, Magnetic, Suave
Fragrance Family: Warm and Sheer
Key Notes: White Musk, Cedarwood, Sandalwood

THANK god I took a closer look at the photo and realized it is indeed a new scent. If you’re looking at it quickly you’ll see “THE WEDDING” but below that, if you’re too excited, you might miss the “Silk Santal 36”. So yes, it is a new fragrance! Bless be the fragrance Gods! Santal is extracted from Sandalwood so, I’m assuming this will be a woodsy scent perhaps with a bit of amber and lighter solar floral notes.

I’ll let you know more info as it becomes available but looks like The Wedding drops June 29th!

i got burned by the pistachio fragrance too. glad i only got the travel size. i do wear it with my pistachio lotion (i found a good dupe for laura mercier’s creme de pistache – finally!). but you are right it wasn’t what i was going for at all.

same! It was a blind buy for me and I was like “I NEED A BIG BOTTLE OF THIS!” but something told me just buy the travel size for me and thank god I did because it was not as described in reviews. I’ll use it up as I still have some but I won’t repurchase.
