5 stars out of 5

Youthforia BYO BLUSH Color Changing Blush Oil is on sale at ulta.com this week and totally worth a pickup! This is one of those color changing blushes that reacts to your skin’s pH to give you the perfect shade of blush. Yeah, let’s toss that out of this review because I think we all know by now most of these blushes change to a Barbie Bubblegum Pink and not a custom shade that’s exclusively ours. That being said, this stuff is hyped up to the max and I get it now. I absolutely love it. It won’t be for everyone but if you have drier skin or like a dewy blush I say grab it!

Youthforia BYO Blush Blush Oil passed by my Tiktok account numerous times and I didn’t bother indulging at that time as it felt a little to hyped up! But I’m happy to say it does live up to the hype. I purchased all the shades during a Memorial Day Sale and I don’t regret the purchase at all. Ulta now has them on sale during their Summer Sale and it’s a good a time as any to grab a shade or two if you’ve had your eye on them. The retail is $36 for .21 oz of blush but on sale they are $25 each! I have the clear version which is the only pH color available. The other shades are not custom color adapting. I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking out the shade Turn Up the Sunshine! It’s the perfect golden orange Summer shade! So, so pretty!

If you want to go with the more pink and natural shade the BYO BLUSH Color Changing Blush Oil is the way to go and the one I’m featuring in this review! It quite reminds me of Hard Candy Selfie Cheek Tint but the formula is a little heavier. Hard Candy’s version is a lot cheaper at $8 and a smidge bigger at .25 oz. Sadly, it proves more and more difficult to find at Walmart for me. I actually went through an entire barrel but struggled replacing it.

The two formulas are similar in color but it seems like Youthforia is more pigmented! The pink seems brighter and more intense. Both shades are a bubblegum pink on my cheeks that gives a “I’m blushing” appearance. It’s a very pretty in my opinion! I realize bright pink isn’t for everyone but I think it’s very flattering on my cheeks. Depending on your skin’s undertone you’ll find it goes a little warmer or a bit cooler on you but still very pink and fun!

The formulas are a like as well. Both have a lipgloss like texture that feels a bit sticky and sets to a dewy finish. As promised, it’s very much a “blush oil” formula. It feels lipgloss-like and has a bit of stickiness and a bit oily but not greasy. I LOVE, love the dewy look of this. It has a glass-like look. If you have dry skin you’ll love it but if you’re oily you might not love it! You can def tame some of that dewiness by applying it with a fiber brush or adding a little powder to set it. It’s a bit thicker than the Hard Candy one but both apply and blend very easily. It’s a very mistake proof formula and a little goes a very, very, very long way. Not to mention it wears very long and strong. The dewiness disappears within three to four hours but the color remains and doesn’t fade for a solid eight to ten hours of wear.

Youthforia BYO Blush Blush Oil has a special place in my heart. I like this formula a lot. It isn’t something everyone will love due to the dewiness and stickiness of the formula but my drier skin absolutely adored this! It looks smooth, flawless, and almost glow-y due to the dewiness of the finish!

Youthforia BYO Blush Blush Oil is available now and on sale at Ulta.

Where to buy

Ulta Youthforia

Youthforia BYO Blush Blush Oil (On sale for $25) is a color-changing pH blush that promises a custom shade of pink. I personally don’t really buy into pH blushes anymore. In reality, they are all turn pink which is fine! I’m cool with that! I compared this to Hard Candy’s Selfie Cheek Tint above as the formulas are very similar. This is a sticky gloss-like consistency that has a dewy finish on cheeks. On my skin is sets to a beautiful blushing pink on my cheeks. The formula applies and blends easily on cheeks and has this beautifully smooth, hydrating, and dewy finish! I think oily skin users will hate but those of us with drier skin will adore it. It wears for a solid eight to ten hours but the dewiness does disappear within three to four.

Pros

  • Pretty, fun pink shade!
  • Dewy finish adds nice gloss and a glass-like look to skin!
  • Wears long and strong.
  • Applies and blends easily.

Cons

  • Might not be a great pick for oily skin!
