Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask is back for the season and it’s still a fun little budget skincare pick up. It’s $6.99 for a 0.2 oz jar (don’t quote me but I think it was $5.99 last year). What is the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask? Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask is an exfoliating leave on mask that you use as the last step in your nightly skincare routine. It contains pumpkin and papaya enzymes that act to exfoliate dead skin cells with hyaluronic acid and squalane to help smooth and hydrate skin.

Seasonal, limited-edition skincare isn’t something I’d normally endorse. Who wants to fall in love with a skincare product that might not come back or is only available once a year? But it’s Trader Joe’s and I’m giving them a little bit of a pass on that. Plus this isn’t a groundbreaking product but more like a little seasonal treat for my skin.

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask comes in a little glass jar that should last you two months or so if you use it daily. It’s a water-based gel formula that can be used as an overnight mask. Just smooth it on after your regular skincare routine and wash it off in the AM. If you’re sensitive you can apply it and wash it off after ten minutes. It’s not a Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Enzymatic Dermal Resurfacer intensity level in my opinion and for a pumpkin enzyme mask it’s actually fairly gentle. It doesn’t have an intense cinnamon scent and smells almost yeast-y like a light beer but with pumpkin. The scent isn’t lasting and disappears quickly. They recommend apply a thick layer and allowing it to absorb. I apply about a quarter size amount and it feels refreshing on my skin and water-like. It absorbs fairly fast but it does leave a little stickiness behind. Nothing too crazy but there is a certain tackiness to the finish. I personally use it after I’ve washed and cleansed my face and as the sole skincare product of the night. I personally don’t like applying all my normal nightly routine on nights I use a sleeping mask. I tend to use them as the sole product of the night. I just feel like applying it to bare skin gives it a chance to absorb and go to work where as if I apply it on top of a bunch of other products it’s less likely to soak into my skin.

I wouldn’t say this provides dramatic results but it does leave my skin feeling plush and hydrated in the morning. I’m not sure I’d say it exfoliates on a super duper level but my skin does feel smoother and refreshed in the AM. I don’t mind this being a seasonal treat. It’s just a fun little cheapie thrill for me to pick it up around the Fall season and use it once or twice a week to hydrate my skin and help smooth it out. It sure is one of the more gentle pumpkin masks I’ve used as some of them burn horribly. This has a little tiny sting but nothing my drier skin can’t handle. But do a patch test if you’re a sensitive user.

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask isn’t going to change your life but it’s a fun little something to add to your Fall skincare line up and it’s budget friendly.

You’re spot on ‘bout this stuff – it’s very mild as an exfoliant. It smells wonderful to me- and I find it more soothing than exfoliating. Still, for $6, it’s a nice lil treat and I like it.

I apparently missed out on the Honey Hydration set that TJ’s had and I’m so bummed about that. Was it LE, or might it come back?

Agreed! Not life changing but a nice little treat yourself moment 🙂 Yeah I wrote about it a while back ago! My store still has them in stock but I’m not really sure if they are LE or permanent!
