5 stars out of 5

E.L.F. Glow Reviver Lip Oil ($8) is a new tinted lip oil slash lipgloss that contains a host of moisturizing ingredients like squalane, apricot, avocado, jojoba, and pomegranate oils. This isn’t E.L.F. Cosmetics’ first foray into the lip oil world as back in 2017 they had a E.L.F. Tinted Lip Oil which was a bit on the streaky side as I recall!

Lip oils are making a massive comeback and they are a true testimony to how products can have go viral and have insta-fame. Across Tiktok the Dior Lip Oil just created this massive buzz that trickled into brands really diving into releasing a host of different lip oils over the last year or two. We have Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oils, Kaja Juicy Glass Oil, NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip, and Saie Glossybounce High-Shine Hydrating Lip Gloss Oil!

If I had to put some on my favorite list I’d say E.L.F. Glow Reviver Lip Oil belongs there. These aren’t only affordable they are quite lovely.

E.L.F. Glow Reviver Lip Oil arrive in a small, square square barrel with a large flocked applicator for application. These are 0.25 oz in size. They are a considerably cheaper than NYX’s formula which is smaller at 0.16 oz and $9 per shade if you’re looking for a drugstore lip oil size and comparison. Speaking of NYX I thought their downfall was the over large applicator for I think E.L.F. does a lot better in this department because I thought the NYX one was awful. The size is perfect for easy storage as it doesn’t take up a ton of room plus easy to travel with as well! As I said the applicator works great! It saturates well with the oil and allows for easy application!

I got two shades and I’m not really sure I need more than that. I got the clear and the shade Rose Envy. Rose Envy has a hint of tint but nothing too crazy. The rest of the shades aren’t terribly appealing to me plus since they are so sheer I didn’t feel the need to go back for more.

This formula is thick and lovely but not so thick it feels uncomfortable on lips. It isn’t tacky nor sticky and feels very comforting on lips with a nice hydrating feel and a glossy finish. If you’re looking for moisture and shine you’ll more than happy with this product. If you want something super pigmented and tinted you might find that lacking here. These give lips a hint of tint but nothing dramatic. I think the number one rant I hear about these is the lack of pigmented but people fail to read the marketing that says “tinted”. Tinted doesn’t imply this is going to be a product with a huge color pay off. It just gives a very subtle hint of tint that enhances your natural lip color. I’m quite alright with that as it’s great for a quick touch up to add shine, a hint of color, and moisture. Just what I want when I don’t want to reapply a bunch of lipgloss or lipstick. It wears and maintain shine and moisture for about two hours before reapplication is needed. It has a fresh, minty flavor that was pleasant. I love a good shiny lip look! These provide that and work great well alone or even over your favorite lipsticks.

I’d absolutely recommend picking up E.L.F. Glow Reviver Lip Oils. These are affordable with a beautiful formula. Do pick some up if you want a moisturizing, shiny lip product!

Ulta ELF

E.L.F. Glow Reviver Lip Oil is a new lip oil infused with squalane, apricot, avocado, jojoba, and pomegranate oils. Available in seven shades this lip oil is 0.16 oz in size and $8 per shade. I liked this formula a lot. It’s glossy, moisturizing, and has a hint of tint without being sticky or tacky. It has a fresh, minty flavor and wears for about two hours. It doesn’t contain a crazy amount of pigment which may be disappointing to some but I was perfectly happy with the shade I got which enhanced my own natural lip color beautifully.

Pros

  • Moisturizing!
  • Wears well alone or over lipstick.
  • Provides plenty of shine.
  • Affordable.

Cons

  • Sheer.
