Tarte Maracuja Juicy Eye & Cheek Palette Attempts Inclusivity

Tarte Maracuja Juicy Eye & Cheek Palette is a new Spring 2024 palette featuring 12 shades of Tarte Eyeshadows, 2 Tarte Cream Blushes, and 1 Cream Contour shade. This is a $52 dollar palette that resembles the Tarte Tartelette Juicy Eyeshadow Palette that launched for Spring 2021. Keep in mind that palette launched with for $45, contained twenty shades, and had a total of 0.80 oz of eyeshadow (0.04 oz per shade). This palette contains considerably less variety for a higher price! Not to mention many of the shades seem easily duped from the Tarte Tartelette Juicy Palette (aside from the blushes and contour obviously).

As per Tarte the palette has a mix of rosy, bronze, and neutral shades. They don’t list the size of each so we can’t compare what you’re getting to some of their past palettes but this feels a lot less for a lot more when you think about it.

There’s also attempting some odd inclusivity with this launch as there’s a version of the palette for both Fair to Medium Skin Tones (peaches and pinks) and Tan and Deep Skin Tones (reds and berries) but the only difference between the palettes are the blush and contour shades not the eyeshadows. It’s sort of weird they didn’t also, offer some deeper shades of eyeshadow to go along with the deeper palette as some of these shades might be a bit chalky looking on a deeper tone.

It’s a pretty selection of pinks! I enjoy a pink eyeshadow moment but I absolutely do not need this considering I have both the smaller and larger Juicy Palettes. I think the shades are very, very easy to duplicate any looks you can create using this Tarte Maracuja Juicy Eye & Cheek Palette with what I already have in the Juicy Palettes (remember the fun switch up they did when they relaunched that palette with fewer shades). Also, I’m being petty, but can we stop using “maracuja” for everything. It’s becoming the new buzz word for Tarte. First it was Shape Tape everything now it’s Maracuja everything.

Anyway, that’s my rant of the day! Apologies! Tarte Maracuja Juicy Eye & Cheek Palette is available now if this one tickles your fancy!

Honestly would have rather Tarte just make the OG Juicy Palette a PERMANENT part of their line. Because for me personally, by the time that I was able to purchase the palette, it had vanished!
These aren’t giving me that same “ooh! I love and need this in my life” feels that the very first iteration did.
