5 stars out of 5

Several weeks ago the Tiktok perfume crew was hyping up Lush Chelsea Morning. And yes, Lush perfumes and Lush in general are having some sort of viral moment on Tiktok. Tiktokers are discovering Lush for the first time and going ape sh*t over it. Fun time for old school Lushies as a lot of the newer items sell out fast or old favs are out of stock. But anyway, Lush Chelsea Morning Perfume was being hyped up hard and although, I refuse to blindly buy into anything Tiktok Perfume recommends (I’ve been burned way too much) I knew I’d purchase this without smelling it first. I’m a Lushie for years and years now and I’ve only run across one scent I hated from them. Any guesses? Karma. It’s pure dirt and oranges! Worst smell ever.

But aside from that I’ve never met a Lush scent I didn’t like. I did say I was done with Lush’s mail order because I HATE how they package thing but sadly, Tiktok struck again and I was unable to find Chelsea Morning in stores. That meant I had to head in for a purchase via mail order. Thankfully enough my bottle came safely. TOO many times I’ve ordered fragrances who just don’t have their lids screwed on tight. This came safe and sound! Phew!

I dished out $90 on a 3.3 oz bottle and one of the reasons I decided on the larger bottle was fear of it selling out again and also, everyone kept saying it smelled a bit like Super Milk. This thrilled and confused me. First off, I adore the smell of Super Milk. It’s the most deliciously zesty, tart fragrance ever. Perfection! It makes my hair smell amazing! I wish Lush would do an entire line of products scented like it. They did a round of perfume but sadly, I feel like that doesn’t quite capture the spirit of the hair primer’s scent.

Anyway, people kept going on and on about this smelling like Super Milk and cookies and toffee and I was confused. How in the world can you combine a fresh, zesty scent like Super Milk with toffee? It’s true. It has that lemony Super Milk note with twirls of caramel and toffee and somehow, someway this all works together to create a warm, zesty gourmand that’s addicting. I really shouldn’t have doubted it because Xerjoff’s Lira takes notes of caramel and citrus and makes it work beautifully. P.S. This isn’t a dupe for Lira.

First mist you’re hot with a strong juicy lemon note. It’s fresh, clean, tart but not dish cleaning liquid smelling. It’s very sharp yet has a subtle sweetness. As it settles onto your skin that’s when the toffee and caramel start showing up. Both are warm, cozy, and totally gourmand. I almost get a burnt sugar element a few hours into the wear. Very sugary, warm, burnt and delicious nestled up against that fresh lemon. It’s very complex and unique. I’ve heard people compare it to Devotion but I don’t think it smells anything like it. It’s way better in my opinion. I think it’s interesting how they combined the lemon and toffee and created a sort of lemon toffee cookie-like fragrance. Lira is lemon poundcake with caramel drizzled on top and this is light, lemony cookies, wafer think, dipped in a warm toffee and set on a rack to harden. It also lasts projects quite nicely and wears very long. The scent bubble is strong and will travel with you throughout the day making you smell edible yet fresh!

Lush Chelsea Morning absolutely lives up to the hype. This is one that deserves all the flowers! A delicious and unique take on a gourmand fragrance that brings citrus and warm toffee together in a marriage most delightful!

I highly recommend checking it out and Lush, if you’re reading this I would love a shower gel scented like this!
