I Want to See Blushes for Spring From Tarte, Urban Decay, and Too Faced

In my recent J Cat Sweet Tooth Shadow Palette post I had expressed how over eyeshadow palettes I was and how Tarte, Urban Decay, and Too Faced have been horrible about updating some of their core collection pieces. Dude, Amazonian Clay Blush really needs a revamp and reformulation. Don’t get me wrong here! I love those blushes! I have every single shade but come on…..! They’ve been around forever and Tarte has done nothing to update them! It would be so cool if they took a minute out of introducing an eyeshadow palette every hour and do some solid core collection updates! Let’s start with the blushes! I mean, we could totally use some warmer shades. I feel like pinks, berries, and roses dominate the collection. Not to mention 99.9% of the shades are matte in finish! I’d love some glow-y, shimmery shades! The shade Glisten is a MUST-HAVE! It’s one of the best shades they have available! I’d love to see more shades with that finish!

Sadly, I think we’ll get the normal round of eyeshadow palettes for Spring but I sure do wish brands would consider revamping some of the pieces in their permanent collection. All three of these brands could use refresh. Urban Decay has been putting their 24/7 Eyeshadows on sale quite a bit. Almost AS SOON AS they launched they were selling them off at $10 bucks each. And their latest lipsticks are now making the sale rounds too which means we’ll probably get some sort of refresh on both. Urban Decay has been introducing and reintroducing Vice Lipstick for the past five years or more. Does anyone care at this point? How many times can you reintroduce the same product in a different shade range with every so slight ingredient and packaging changes?

It’s odd how I can take bets on what Tarte, Urban Decay, and Too Faced will do for Spring/Summer 2023. Urban Decay will of course, hit us with Naked Palette something AGAIN. Tarte will hit us with yet another new eyeshadow palette and of course, a “Trippin’ with Tarte” influencer trip featuring the palette. Why does the whole Trippin’ with Tarte thing make me feel so unreliable to the brand!??! Too Faced will likely revamp the Peach Collection for Sephora and of course, a new palette as well.

Snore.

I hope I’m wrong. I personally would love to see a few new blushes from all three brands. Urban Decay has never had a successful blush collection in my opinion and Too Faced has a semi-ok one where as Tarte has solid blushes but those need a serious overhaul. If the pandemic taught us one thing it’s that we’ve been on a super consumerism ride for the past few years. It would be nice to get back to similar seasonal collections. We really don’t need more massive eyeshadow palettes. I’d love to see 2023 but the death of them.

What are your thoughts on releases for Spring/Summer?

Do share!

They will have to, if they paid attention to Benefit. That blush launch was beyond excellent and actually exciting. Clinique Cheek Pops put C back on the map. Also excellent, but already d/c’d. We often talk about ‘the old way.’ Curated core collection with seasonal offerings. Chanel basically still does that with their core blushes. If I look at the current shade line up, many were around 20-25 years ago (with tweaking.) TARTE IS NOT CHANEL. No shit. They can’t succeed following that model. And yeah, it’s true, once you are oversated with eyeshadow, you eye the blushes.

I want new blush shades from NARS and a refresh of the power matte liquid lipstick line, it is still my favourite liquid lipstick formula ever. I’m also hoping for the death of the Naked palette, at this point they have absolutely nothing to do with the original concept, discontinuing the original was a big mistake imo.

yes please! New NARS blushes would be brilliant! I completely agree! There’s nothing Naked about the palette anymore!

Death to Laguna and Orgasm! Overdone. Bring back the artist palettes with themes and shadow/blush/multiple/lipstick, etc. People bitch about ‘need a pull-in palette.’ Not if you can use 4 coordinating colors, a blush, a multiple/highlight, and coordinated lip product or two. Let your dead horses RIP, while you get back to some of your earlier concepts. Or brand new ones. Talk about resting on your laurels. The last blush release was good, but I’m sure it did not escape you that there was no blush palette this holiday. Boo! Favorite product ever!

Oh, I LOVE the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush formula. For me, it’s the best on the market, aside from Clinique’s Cheek Pops. (C’s CPs are great, but not quiiiiiite as great as TACB in my opinion.) TACB lasts all day on me! But the colors; good grief, yes! Tarte: we desperately need some new ones! You have SO MUCH rose and peach. Please give us some true orange tones, straight red tones, true nudes and some purples (both muted and bright). Shimmery AND matte (but no chunky glitter, please!). Let us spend our hard earned money on a formula we love and trust with some new life breathed into it! You aren’t just good for Shape Tape, Tarte!
