Sol de Janeiro Do Not Disturb Perfume Mist Review

Sol de Janeiro Do Not Disturb Perfume Mist ($24) is one of three new, limited edition Summer 2023 fragrances that is classified as a floral musk that’s warm and spicy. As you know, I immediately purchased all three of these when they launched at Sephora. Totally blind buys, no questions asked because Sol de Janeiro is my drug of choice when it comes to delicious tropical fragrances. I already reviewed When in Rio and trust me, when I say, I think Do Not Disturb is probably going to be the least tropical of the scents and the fragrance you want to keep around if you like cuddly, close to skin scents.
I’m actually shocked I like this scent as they threw me off with the linen note in this fragrance. I don’t really like cotton or linen-type fragrances. Vanilla yes, it’s a favorite of mine but anything that smells clean or like cotton I’m just not into (Clean and Clean Reserve Fragrances being the exception to that rule). The irony in that is I love Do Not Disturb and it’s probably my favorite of the three scents released.

Sol de Janeiro Do Not Disturb Perfume Mist is $24 and 3.04 oz in size. Sadly, like the Summer 2022 releases, these do not come in the larger 8 oz size. I wish they’d reconsider that and as I said in my When In Rio Review, I wish they’d do some matching body creams to go along with these launched as I struggle with the Sol de Janeiro Perfume Mist formula. It’s either my body chemistry or the formula is just major weak but without the addition of a perfumed body cream for layering these last a really, really, really short time on me. Unfortunately, that doesn’t lessen my addiction in the least.
Do Not Disturb has top notes of mimosa flower and sunwashed linens with middle notes of violet petals and warm sand followed by a dry down of musk and soft vanilla. If you like Cloud, BR540, or Brazilian Crush Cheirosa ’68 Beija Flor you are going to adore Do Not Disturb. This has the same DNA as those three scents! It’s very much a Cloud, BR540, ’68 scent with a good dose of clean, fresh linen wrapped around it. My inexperienced nose doesn’t pick up on the mimosa flower, violet petals, or warm sand but I get the linen note perfectly and feel it dominates the scent even after try down. They nude musk is very much here as well making this a beautiful skin scent. It reminds me of freshly washed sheets, clean skin, and cool Summer evenings.
Sol de Janeiro Do Not Disturb Perfume Mist is worthy of a pick up if you love clean skin scents. This is beautiful!
