Real Techniques Real Clean Face Erase Makeup Removing Balm is a new fragrance-free solid makeup cleansing balm that contains Hyaluronic Acid and Coconut Oil to hydrate skin as it removes dirt, makeup, and oil. You know I raced my butt over to Amazon to grab me one of these but I’m a little salty about my purchase as I paid $11.88 and Amazon has a coupon now (click the little button under the product to get the discount) for 30% off. Shoot! Why you play me like that, Amazon?

I need another way to cleanse my face like I need a holy in my head but why not? Because really, Real Techniques rock and I needed to try out their very first skincare product right? Will we get more? Maybe a moisturizer in the future? We’ll have to see where this new Real Techniques Real Clean Collection leads.

Real Techniques Real Clean Makeup Removing Balm is available in a 2 oz jar for $12 or as per the sale it’s eight bucks and a bit of your change. I could be wrong but I don’t see this getting a mass retailer launch at $12 or more dollars. Real Techniques has been around long enough to realize they have competition especially in the makeup cleansing balm world. I’d say they go with $8-$10 when retails like Ulta and Target get their hands on it. Just for comparison popular inexpensive cleansing balms like E.L.F. Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm are the same size as this and priced at $11 which makes the Real Clean Makeup Removing Balm fit right into the affordable drugstore world (if drugstore anything can really be called affordable anymore!). If it stays at around $12 it’s still the norm for a drugstore cleansing balm. So not too badly priced at all.

This comes in a screw top jar in a pretty aqua shade. I wouldn’t know it was by Real Techniques at all if it wasn’t for the writing on the jar. I always associate Real Techniques with their pink packaging and the metallic pink and peach brush handles. This aqua shade is different for them!

This is formula is vegan, cruelty-free, and contains no fragrance or mineral oil. It’s a solid cleansing balm that has a soft consistency that melts upon contact with skin. As with all cleansing balms it is meant for use on dry skin! Scoop a small amount out of the jar, apply it to dry skin, massage in, and add a bit of water to emulsify. Continue to gently massage around skin and go in for a rinse. I found it went a bit oily after I applied it and it emulsify very easily when water was added and rinses clean away without leaving any residue or greasiness behind. My skin felt smooth and not tight nor dry after use which I appreciated very much as a dry skin girl. I was little concerned about this having coconut oil in it as coconut oil has been known to make me a bit itchy and red but I had no issues at all with it.

This worked great! Removed my makeup easily even waterproof mascara! Done and done! I’d totally buy it again especially since it didn’t dry my skin out. One thing that could be a problem is it did create that cloudy trippy vision thing. It’s been a while since I experienced that with any cleansing oils or cleansing balms! I feel like some of the newer formulas I’ve used in the last few years don’t cause any cloudy vision problems. This did. It’s not a big deal because it goes away within a few moments but it deserves mentioning if you hate that feeling!

Real Techniques Real Clean Makeup Removing Balm is a nice little first skincare release for Real Techniques. I’ll buy more of their skincare or cleansing products in the future should they do some others!
