Today We Give Thanks

It’s terribly hard writing about beauty and makeup during a pandemic. In some ways, it’s a great distraction but in others it feels terribly insensitive to write about a sale or a new shade of lipstick. I love makeup with all my heart but at the moment I’m really struggling writing about it.

That being said, I decided today I’d write a note of thanks to those out there working the front lines.

All those people working the cashiers at the supermarkets, the ones stocking shelves, thank you. All the Uber and Taxi drivers still out there picking up people and taking them to where they need to be during this chaos, thank you. All the Nurses, Doctors, and Aides, thank you! To those who work retailer and your stores haven’t closed, thank you. To anyone out there working in the fast food industry, thank you. To the police officers, firemen and women, and city workers, thank you (I know my garbage guys were out early this AM picking up the garbage!).

To anyone right now who can’t stay home because they work in an industry that won’t allow them to stay home thank you for being brave enough to be out there.

Please be safe all of you. I wish you only the best.

Sephora Closes Stores Until April 3rd To Fight Against COVID-19

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Sephora will close stores starting today at 5PM until April 3rd to flatten the curve against COVID-19. Sephora isn’t alone as most major retails have done the same including Nordstrom. Sephora is a little late to the show as most major retailers have made an announcement prior.

Sephora.com remains open for business as usual with a new return policy in place temporarily that allows you 60 days from the purchase to the return the product. As you know this was part of Sephora’s old policy but they revised it to 30 days sometime ago and are now re-extending the return time during the pandemic.

They have also provided the code FREESHIP to be used on their site to get free standard shipping on orders (some exclusions apply).

If anyone is effected at this time it surely is the beauty world as I think the last thing on anyone’s mind right now is going out to a store and swatching from testers that have been touched by hundreds of different fingers. I do hope at this time stores and counters take the time out to toss out testers and start fresh when stores re-open. I think it’ll be a really long time before I’m comfortable touching a tester in stores. How about you?

I do feel some comfort in stores closing as it might help to flatten the curve. However, out economy is going to take a major hit with all the closings.

I hope this post finds you well today! Remember, not everything is cancelled. If you’re home enjoy that time doing something you love! Books are not cancelled, binging a good show is not cancelled, re-organizing your closet or your spice rack (I totally did that on Sunday) is not cancelled, sitting down with your dog and snuggling is not cancelled. There are a lot of things that are still around to make you smile and take your head out of the doom and gloom space it might be in.

Be safe.

You got this.
