Good Morning friends! There’s been a new Sephora Give Me Some Shine Balm and Gloss Lip Set available for Summer 2020!
How’s your week been? Need a little retail therapy? Mine has been swamped! I wouldn’t mind buying myself a little something pretty to relieve the stress of the work week 🙂
This new set contains five full size lip balms and glosses two of which are full-size!
The set is $29 and apparently contains $84 worth of product. I do know the Fenty Gloss Balm and NARS Afterglow alone would be $47 so that alone is a discount.
Sephora Give Me Some Shine Balm and Gloss Lip Set for Summer 2020 is available now at Sephora.
Enjoy!

It’s time to say goodbye to Clarisonic as they are going out of business as of September 30th, 2020. After nearly ten years Clarisonic is closing up shop and calling it a day. The entire site is 50% off and Ulta also has items on sale but most are already sold out. Sephora is also completely cleaned out.
This is pretty sad day for a number of reasons! One of the saddest factors is that your Clarisonic, if you own one, will now be useless if you can’t purchase replacement brushes. It would have been nice if they still offered brushes but maybe not devices but nope, they are completely out of business so your machine will be rendered useless once you deplete your current selection of brush heads. Now is a good time to stock up on your favorite brush heads if you can find them as they are going pretty fast so you can extend the use of your device for as long as you can. I think some good news is you’ll likely be able to find replacement brush heads on the secondary market well after Clarisonic is gone but they may be expensive and at some point that stash will be depleted as well. Kind of sucks that any Clarisonic devices you own will be paperweights once brush heads run out!
Clarisonic posted on their Instagram the following statement:
“After more than a decade of game-changing innovation and industry-leading technology, the Clarisonic brand will be shutting down as of September 30, 2020, We want to thank all of our loyal customers, dermatologists and partners who have helped put this brand on the map. It has been our absolute pleasure to serve you all of these years.”
If you’re wondering if this is related to COVID it appears not as Clarisonic shared on their website that L’Oreal wanted to focus more on its other core business offerings and I guess Clarisonic wasn’t of priority. Personally, I think it could be related to the pandemic as many brands are struggling hard right now. And if we’re honest, L’Oreal has been spending incredible amounts of cash snatching up a variety of brands. Example? A whopping 1.2 Billion on It Cosmetics!
It’s a pretty sad day for fans of the device.
Are you upset about Clarisonic going out of business?

I picked up one of the Palmer’s Coconut Water Hydrating Sheet Mask ($3.99) recently and thankfully I didn’t get too crazy stocking up on these without trying it first because it sucks. I swear I’m giving up on US sheet masks because I haven’t met one I love. Korean facial sheet masks are far, far, far more superior not to mention cheaper. I admit how far Palmer’s has come lately with their skincare though that’s for sure! From Cleansing Oil to Cleansing Balm and even Cream Masks Palmer’s really has a very extensive array of products available to take care of both your face and your body!
Sadly, this sheet mask pretty falls into the same trap almost all US facial sheet masks do. It fits poorly and it’s dry. That’s pretty much the norm with sheet masks available in our market. I just don’t understand the fit of some of these masks sometimes. This one has a bunch of cuts around the mask which Korean masks do have but they were excessive with this for some reason! It’s like 8 different cuts. Secondly, it has cutouts for the eyes and lips but also, flaps that close over the mouth and face. I like watching TV or doing a load of laundry or whatever when I have a mask on. I get they expect you to lay those flaps over your eyes and relax but I find them pointless and annoying. The fit is too large for my face as the mouth around has big gaps and so do the eyes which results in tearing when I pat the mask or tap my fingers to aid in allow the essence to absorb. Which isn’t even necessarily anyway as the mask is bone dry!

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Touch Hand Sanitizer Spray is a $10 antibacterial spray that launched in April on the brand’s website (Back in Stock at sephora.com!). Sol de Janeiro was actually one of the first brands to tackle a hand sanitizer during the pandemic plus 100% of profits from the sale of it directly benefited Bayada Home Healthcare and their home health care staff who care for the elderly and the most vulnerable. At the time of launch they had a limit of 2 hand sanitizers per a person and were accepting coupons and I happened to have a 20% one off so I ended up scoring two bottles for $16. I’d probably have purchased more if I could have as you know how obsessed I am with the scent of Bum Bum Cream aka Cheirosa 62!
I’m just throwing it out into the universe for Sol de Janeiro to hopefully hear but I’d totally buy a case of hand soap in this scent. I love, love, love Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Touch Hand Cream and I think a hand soap would be a great accompanying piece to the hand cream!
