Soap & Glory Now Has a Cleansing Balm That Acts as Peel?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Soap & Glory Glow Your Mind Nourishing Cleansing Balm is on the loose at Ulta! This is Soap & Glory’s first cleansing balm ever! The $13.99 cleansing balm is 3.3 oz in size and contains a mix of marula, avocado, apricot, and jojoba oil.

This sounded amazing until I read the how to use instructions. At first they say it’s a balm t milk consistency! Ok, that sounds right but they proceed to they proceeded to confuse me in two areas the first of which is the fact that meant to be used on a wet face. As far as I’m concerned it’s no longer a cleansing balm if you’re using it on wet skin. But secondly and most odd is the fact that it acts as a peel. Say what? Apparently it has AHA and BHA ingredients to act as a gentle peel but in reality it comes from harmful lemon oil. That being said I’m a bit wary of applying this on my eyes even though it says it’ll act to remove waterproof mascara.

I always find products like this confusing as it just wants to do too much. Just pick one thing to excel at. Be a great cleansing balm but don’t try to be a peel as well. It’s just too confusing when you’re throwing so many tasks into one simple product.

Am I right?

For those interested Soap & Glory Glow Your Mind Nourishing Cleansing Balm is available now at Ulta.

Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin High Coverage Multi-Use Concealer The Next Tarte Shape Tape?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin High Coverage Multi-Use Concealer ($27) launched today in 22 shades today at sephora.com and I’m wondering could it be the next Tarte Shape Tape Concealer? Same larger applicator, matte, full coverage, hmmmm! Sounds like Tarte Shape Tape doesn’t it? But guess what? I like Shape Tape and to this day I haven’t really found a Make Up For Ever Concealer I actually like. I dunno why that is either…! But I’m tempted by Matte Velvet Skin High Coverage Multi-Use Concealer! I could be convinced to try this one especially with the natural matte finish promise.

The formula is full coverage and provides a blurring effect with a water, sweet, and transfer proof formula that’s lightweight and what they dub as “airy”. That sounds very promising! Now to find a shade as I can never find a good Make Up For Ever shade that to fit me. What do you think of this formula? Think it’ll work for you?

Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin High Coverage Multi-Use Concealer is available now at Sephora.

P.S. Happy Monday! How was your weekend? We had some odd weather where it was randomly raining on sec and crazy humid the next. But it was nice overall! Beautiful blue skies, bright sun, but oh my god humid. When the rain came it brought a ton of humidity with it. I felt like I was melting yesterday. We got up really early to go to Bear Mountain and at first it was very cool but as the day progresses phew it was hot as Hades. It was so worth it though because the view was breathtaking. But now my legs are about ready to fall off today 🙂 Haha…!

What did you do this weekend? And which concealer did you use so it didn’t melt completely off? 😉

5 stars out of 5

Wet n Wild x My Melody & Kuromi Blush & Highlight Brush is a new, limited edition double-sided highlighter and blush makeup brush launching with the the new Wet n Wild My Melody and Kuromi Makeup Collection. Most people are going to want this as a collector’s piece and I totally get that but at this stage in my life I’ve moved past collecting. I’ve embraced a YOLO mentality with limited edition collections and I feel healthier for it. So, yup, I did crack this open and I used it! GASP! I wasn’t even tempted to grab a back up! I did keep the box though……!

I grabbed my brush at Harmons but on July 21st it’ll be available at wetnwildbeauty.com and sanrio.com as well as at ulta.com (in stores as well), Walgreens (in stores) CVS (in stores), and at target.com.

Here’s some thoughts on the My Melody & Kuromi x Wet n Wild Blush & Highlight Brush!

My Melody x Kuromi x Wet n Wild Blushlighter Palette ($7.99) is a new, limited edition blush and highlighter palette with a quad for four shades inspired by Sanrio characters My Melody and her rival Kuromi. I’ve already featured the Wet n Wild Kuromi Eyeshadow Palette in a review I did last week. Bath and Body Works Boardwalk Taffy Smells Like Strawberry Starburst

5 stars out of 5

Bath and Body Works Boardwalk Taffy is a new, limited edition fragrance that launched for Summer 2020 that I’m already hoping will be brought back next year. I’m the first person in the world to rant about the repetitiveness of Bath and Body Works fragrances but sometimes, just sometimes, they’ll surprise us with a truly great scent that sticks with us well after it disappears. Boardwalk Taffy is such a scent.

I said it over the Holidays and I’ll say it again, Bath and Body Works has really been stepping up their game lately with a few creative scents that they’ve thrown our way lately and I’m ever so grateful for it. Sure, they reverted back to all those coconut, Hawaiian, tropical vacation scents for Summer that just smell like the same repetitive tropical fragrance but they mixed things up when they threw Boardwalk Taffy into the mix.

This mix of spun sugar, pink berries, and whipped vanilla had me thinking, “Oh no not pink sugar!” I was convinced this would be a cotton candy-like scent on the level of Pink Sugar which I’m not a fan of but it turned into something so much better.
