Could the new Violet Voss Oh Snap Gingerbread Fun Sized Mini Eyeshadow Palette be a nice little dupe of Too Faced’s Extra Spicy Gingerbread Eyeshadow Palette? Hmmmm! Looks like it doesn’t it? This cute little palette features 10 0.04 oz eyeshadows in matte, foil, metallic and satin finishes. The shades are rich coppers, browns, and cranberries that look a lot like ones we’ve seen in the Extra Spicy Gingerbread Palette but I have this feeling the might be even more pigmented than the Too Faced’s formula. And good news for those put off by scented palette as unlike the Too Faced Palette there is no scent so you can enjoy your gingerbread inspired shades without the novelty of fragrance.

I’m torn about this one because I actually really want to give it a try but I feel like I have dupes of all these shades in the Extra Spicy Palette already! Do I really need to spend $18 on another palette that I can probably easily dupe? My illogical says yes but my logical side says no! Of course, my illogical side typically wins in cases of makeup purchasing.
Sigh.
Violet Voss Oh Snap Gingerbread Fun Sized Mini Eyeshadow Palette is available now at Sephora.
Speaking of cookies…! I made homemade chocolate chip cookies like a real life adult last night. You see I can burn boiling water without even trying! I’m not much of a chef nor a baker! But the last year or so I’ve decided I needed to be more adult in the kitchen. I made the cookies from scratch and they didn’t come out half bad! I even purchased a cooling rack all Martha Stewart-like! The first round I sprayed my pan with a little cooking spray but it burned the bottom of the cookies. So, I goggled a little and headed to the store for parchment paper. Turns out that’s the trick to the perfect cookie! I put a piece of the paper on the tray, popped my cookie dough on it, set it to back, and perfect cookies! No burns!
I’m proud of myself. I’m finally adulting! I should try gingerbread men next right?

Colourpop Drop of a Hat Super Shock Cheek is one of six new blushes that launched with the Colourpop Whatever Eyeshadow Palette. I got all six shades of the blush when I purchased the Call It Whatever Vault and I don’t regret the purchase at all! These are so my shades and they feel so very Fall which I’ve really been missing with all these Holiday releases that skipped right over the Fall season!
Let’s take a look at my thoughts on the Colourpop Drop of the Hat Super Shock Cheek below.

Ulta now accepts Afterpay making it easier than ever before to grab the latest and greatest beauty. But at what cost to you? Nothing. It’s actually a fairly simple system that will break down the total amount of your purchase into 4 easy to pay installments much like QVC and HSN does with their easy pay option. It’s a nice feature and it does make you feel a little bit better about indulging but as with all credit options you have to be leveled headed and smart about the purchases you make. Don’t go spending $200 on makeup if you don’t have $200 to spend even if it is broken into four easy to pay options that’s still money you might need for something way more important in your life.
Afterpay doesn’t charge interest however, they will charge a late fee if you fail to pay your installment. Afterpay uses a factoring system and the interest they make is actually from the retailer that offers Afterpay and not from the consumer making the purchase. Afterpay can actually make up to 30% interest on a purchase but it isn’t factored into your costs using it as it comes from the loan that Afterpay buys out from the retailer. Another words, if you make a $100 purchase from Ulta, Afterpay buys that loan from Ulta for $96 and in turn lends you $100 to make the purchase therefore allowing them to pocket $4. The “interest rate” gets higher depending on the amount Afterpay loans to you.
Afterpay can be nifty because it doesn’t do credit checks so most anyone can use it. But this also makes it dangerous as it offers these loans to people as young as 18. Just remember when it comes to Afterpay the option can be cool but use it responsibly and never overspend on something you can’t afford to buy.
