Revlon Color Charge for Spring 2018

Head on over to Walgreens because there is a new limited edition Revlon Color Charge Makeup Collection for Spring 2018 you might want to check out. Gal Gadot is sadly no where to be seen but there’s plenty of interesting options in this collection like the new Holographic Loose Pigment that can be worn alone or over your favorite eyeshadow as well as a colorful Color Charge Eyeshadow Palette that includes 10 shades.

Not crazy about color? No worries! Although the main focus of the collection concentrates on bold primary shades there are also a slew of very lipsticks and lipglosses as well as two different Transforming Lip Powder Palettes that contain five shades each which can be worn over your favorite lipsticks or under your favorite lipglosses. They had some really nice nude shades of lipstick and a very vibrant matte red that I decided to pick up. Of course, there’s also a Liquid Illuminator because where would any collection be without some form of highlighter right?

Bath & Body Works Releases Gym Bag Essentials Or Zombie Apocalypse Ones

Fresh in a Flash, Shower in a Bottle (dude, you can use this on yoga mat! Seriously!), these are just a few of the new products launched in the Bath & Body Work’s Active Skincare Collection for Spring 2018. There are some gym bag essentials items here you might want to pick up to stow away if you keep a locker at your local gym.

This seems to be a common trend in the makeup world where beauty mixes in with your trip to the gym. I mean I dunno how glamorous I wanna be at the gym but lately there are any number of collections that are geared towards that such as the CliniqueFIT line, Tarte’s Athleisure Collection, and even the E.L.F. Active Collection.

Personally, I think any number of these items would be handy during the zombie apocalypse. Like, for example, Bath & Body Works Shower in a Bottle No-Rinse Body Cleansing Foam should be one you totally put in your zombie plague emergency kit. Because water will likely be an important commodity when the dead walk the earth and no one wants to use water to wash with. We need it to drink why would we waste it on washing ourselves? So, hey, cleansing foam! No water needed. You can apparently massage this on and it’ll refresh and cleanse your skin without water. See? Totally created zombie apocalypse and not the gym!

Here’s the low down on Bath & Body Works Active Skincare Collection.

E.L.F. Prep & Blur Stick Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

E.L.F. Prep & Blur Stick ($6) is a new budget friendly face primer stick with a silicone-free formula that smooths fine lines and visible pores while prepping for makeup. I was actually quite surprised this was silicone-free! I expected it would be along the lines of Milani’s Instant Touch-Up Blur with that poured and solidified silicone primer texture. This is good news for me as I don’t like silicone primers anyway as I have drier skin and prefer more hydrating ones. However, I do have smaller, visible pores on my nose which I like smooth over so sticks like this come in handy for that area.

But honestly, if you have drier skin I’d always recommend a hydrating gel or cream to prep with as silicone will pill or just feel uncomfortable on your skin. In my case, I always feel itchy with silicone on my face.

Pixi Rose Caviar Essence is Delightfully Expensive

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Pixi Rose Caviar Essence is quite expensive at $24 for 1.51 oz but if you can get past that price you’re in for a rather delightful treat for your face. This hydrating essence contains a host of floral oils that will restore moisture to your face while easing dullness and prepping for other products in your routine.

I happen to be a very, very strong supporter of facial essence and feel that it is a very important step in anyone’s skincare routine. No matter if your cleansing ritual includes a double-cleanse or a single one using a balm, oil, foam, or gel you’re likely stripping some of the important moisture from your skin during the process. After you wash your face the most important step to follow up with is adding moisture back into your skin and you’ll do by applying a moisturizing essence. I tend to to do this twice myself! Once by misting myself madly with Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist and secondly I apply my favorite essence, Dr Jart Ceramidin Liquid, Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion, or I switch it up and go with any number of other essences I love. But all that matters is I’m restoring any moisture I lost during the cleansing process.

Milani Make It Last Setting Powder Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

I picked up the new Milani Make It Last Setting Powder ($11) which is a new silky loose facial powder that launched in four shades for Spring 2018 in the shade Banana. Milani has had a variety of different powders that launched over the years like The Multitasker Face Powder, Prep + Set + Go Transparent, Prep + Set + Glow Powder, and others but to my knowledge this is the first time they launched a loose setting powder.

As per my original post about Make It Last Setting Powder, I decided to purchase this for use under my eyes to set my concealer since they had a nice banana shade available. I already have a few holy grail banana powders from Ben Nye and Hard Candy but I thought I’d give this a whirl even though I had a feeling I wouldn’t like it. Why? because it’s a silica and I really dislike how silica looks under my eyes. It creases terribly and falls into my finer lines giving me an aged look. I tend to like powders that have a finely milled powdery texture with a talc-like consistency. Those seem to have a smoother finish for me.
