Kiko Files for Bankruptcy and Closes Most US Stores

Kiko has filed for bankruptcy and plans on closing all but five of their US stores. I imagine this includes the store in the Palisades Mall I originally wrote about back in 2015 but I haven’t been to the Palisades in a while so I can’t confirm. It’s with a heavy heart that I write about this news today as I’m truly a huge fan of Kiko’s products especially their seasonal, limited edition releases.

Moving forward they’ll likely retain their online business and at least five of their domestic stores will remain open. It comes as no great surprise they plan to close store locations though since mall traffic is at an all time low due to online sales especially around the Holidays when most shopping is done. Video killed the radio star as they say. Currently they have 29 US stores and plan to close 24 as of February 28th.

Apparently their online sales are steady and even increasing in 2017 and they also sell through amazon.com now which means you can take advantage of Prime Free Shipping.

So, it is quite sad news they are closing store locations but don’t worry it looks like the online sales force is strong.

I know I don’t want to see Kiko disappear anytime soon as their collection are very appealing to those who like higher-end makeup at a budget price and that’s exactly what they deliver to us.

Thanks to Brian for sharing this news yesterday via a comment. Right now not a lot of news outlets have covered the story so without him mentioning I might have never known.

What do you think of Kiko closing stores?

Do you shop at their stores often?

I’m guilty of doing 99% of my own Kiko shopping online!

MAC Viva Glam Sia is the Red Lipstick You Need in Your Life

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

MAC Viva Glam Sia launched today and suddenly I feel like I need another red lipstick in my life. It wasn’t always that way you know. I avoided red lipstick like the plague for many, many years because I always felt like I looked like a clown in it. Somewhere along the way I developed a certain confidence to wear red and about a hundred odd tubes later the rest is history.

I’m always searching for the perfectly formulated concealer. I’ve come across a few I love but I’m always hunting. Red lipstick is a lot like concealer in some aspects. You have to find that perfect formula and that perfect undertone and suddenly your life is changed. Finding your perfect red lipstick can definitely makeup life altering. If you haven’t found yours or you shy away from the shade I’d recommend not giving up the fight. Keep looking! Don’t give up! There’s a red lipstick out there for everyone.

Maybe Viva Glam Sia is yours!

Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Micellar Water Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Micellar Water is a new 3-in-1 formula that removes makeup while purifying skin. I don’t really understand their 3-in-1 formula marketing they have going on here! Their tag line reads, “removes waterproof makeup + effectively cleanses + purifies”. Isn’t that all the same bloody thing? Especially the part about removing makeup and effectively cleansing. What and what?! Are you intentionally trying to throw a pop quiz at me and make me think hard here because I can’t even when I’m tired in the middle of the night and shopping micellar waters in my pajama bottoms.

True story about shopping this in my pajama bottoms. I had to go get some distilled water at 2AM and I couldn’t be arsed to get dressed. I SWEAR TO GOD I am not one of those people roaming the streets in Uggs and pajama bottoms. It was just the one time.

No but seriously, the marketing is kind of off here as there isn’t anything 3-in-1 about this formula. It removes makeup period. The end. Everyone lives happily ever after. Well not really, because the formula isn’t that great.

Yes To Cleansing Balms Launch in Two Formulas

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Yes to Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleansing Balm and Yes To Coconut Oil Cleansing Balm are headed to your local drugstore for Spring 2018 and I’m already on the look out as I really need to try these out for myself (even though I tend to be disappointed by Yes To Skincare).

I wondering if these are a traditional cleansing balm like Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm? I hope so! I didn’t really like Yes To Coconut Ultra Hydrating Melting Cleanser which is essentially a cleansing balm of sorts in a tube so I have high hopes these formulas will be better.
