St. Ives Apricot & Manuka Honey Cleansing Stick Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

St. Ives Apricot & Manuka Honey Cleansing Stick ($9.99) is one of three different St. Ives Cleansing Stick formulas that are launching now at drugstores for Spring 2018 season. Cleansing Sticks are becoming quite popular at the drugstore this season with many different brands launching a variety of cleansing and exfoliating sticks. These are pretty handy if you travel a lot of you wash your face after a gym session and need something portable and easy to use. I like them well enough. I think they are convenient for travel but they aren’t my go to for daily cleansing as I tend to stick to my regular nightly cleanse ritual and rarely deviate from it. I’m also not convinced how hygienic these are and find them a little messy to use sometimes.

None the less it’s nice to see St. Ives doing a cleansing stick as it’s testimony how they seem to have a knock for getting involved in launching some unique skincare offerings at the drugstore. Just this Summer they introduced thee first ever Facial Oil Scrub.

Let’s take a look my review below.

Revlon Dream in Nude Super Lustrous Lipgloss Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Revlon Dream in Nude Super Lustrous Lipgloss is a new shade that launched with the Revlon Color Charge Spring 2018 Collection that’s launching in drugstores now. Super Lustrous Lipgloss launched back in 2013 and if anything at all you’d think they’d be disappearing from Revlon’s permanent collection at this point to make room for something new. But nope, here’s Revlon creating brand new shades in the line. I’m not sure if Dream in Nude is limited edition as there is no word on the packaging stating as such. The entire Color Charge Collection has actually been trademarked which leads me to believe it’ll be added to the permanent Revlon Collection but I don’t have official, confirmed information about this.

None the less, I decided to pick up Dream in Nude as I thought it would make a rather great companion piece to the Revlon Blank Canvas Super Lustrous Lipstick I picked up that also launched with this collection and I was right. The two shades pair up and play nicely together but Dream in Nude is actually pigmented enough to work perfectly on its own as well.

I find the release of nudes in this collection interesting since it is a very colorful collection with many bright shades such as blue and fuchsia. It’s actually easy to overlook the collection if you’re not one that enjoys color as I almost passed it up before deciding to take a second look. I’m glad I did because I discovered some great keepers in the launch.

Too Faced White Peach Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Too Faced White Peach Eyeshadow Palette ($45) is a new Spring 2018 permanent eyeshadow palette that’s being added to the Too Faced Peaches & Cream Collection at Sephora and on their website. The White Peach Eyeshadow Palette comes close on the heels of the release of the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette which is a deeper, warmer selection of shades. This go around Too Faced went with lighter shades in a variety of finishes that includes mattes, satins, and shimmers.

I actually liked the Just Peachy Mattes Palette a lot however, upon seeing the White Peach Eyeshadow Palette I was a little at odds with what sort of looks I could create using the plums and peaches they included. I totally lack the creativity to create a look using purple and peach but I was determined to enjoy the peachy shades in this palette because I love these kind of shades. I did try to combine purple with peach in my look below but I failed miserably 🙂

My problem though stems from the fact that the shades are a little too light for me. I have a light medium skin tone with warmer undertones and the shades were way too light and sheer for me. After trying the palette though I realized it wasn’t so much the fault of my skin tone but the formula itself as the shades sheer away when blended and the colors don’t contrast well not to mentioning they are quite chalky.

Here’s how things went down with the To Faced White Peach Eyeshadow Palette.

Revlon Blank Canvas Super Lustrous Lipstick Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Revlon Blank Canvas Super Lustrous Lipstick arrives with the new Revlon Color Charge Spring 2018 Collection and I have thoughts of purchasing a back up. You see, I never contemplate backups anymore. There was a time in my makeup life where it felt like all items required a backup. I think we went through that phase when MAC launched a limited edition collection and we’d sit there like, “Oh my god! Imma need at least three jars of that green pigment because they’ll never make it again and I’ll be without green pigment forever and ever!”

Fast forward years and years later and you never even made it half way through one jar never mind the other two backups. As you get older you and reach some sort of makeup maturity level you realize your collection is either too vast for backups or you grow bored with the item anyway within a few months and you’re on to the next thing. So backups are really unnecessary but this Revlon Blank Canvas Super Lustrous Lipstick? It might warrant a backup!

Blank Canvas Super Lustrous Lipstick feels like something I already own from Revlon however, the shade doesn’t appear in the permanent collection. I’m unsure if it is available as a limited edition shade with the Color Charge Collection as it makes no mention of this on the label. It does come in special edition packaging which has the “Color Charge” logo stamped on the side of the barrel. I noticed that Revlon has trademarked the Color Charge name which makes me believe the collection might stick around.

The interesting thing about Blank Canvas is it releases in a collection that’s all about color. Color Charge has some bold shades and seems to be marketed as a colorful collection however, oddly enough there are some truly great nudes in this launch.
